What's the matter with Lindsey?

Lindsey Graham’s Long-Shot Mission to Unravel the Election Results

With unsubstantiated claims of vote-counting errors and calls to officials in several states, the South Carolina senator seems bent on reversing Joe Biden’s clear victory over President Trump.

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, four years ago:

“Like most Americans, I have confidence in our democracy and our election system,” Mr. Graham said in a statement on Twitter. “If he [Trump] loses, it will not be because the system is ‘rigged’ but because he failed as a candidate.”

A friend writes:

"Graham acts like a fish out of water flopping around in his efforts to please Trump and hold on to power. Just look at how he changed his opinion of Trump in 2016 when he felt he would loose the primary to when he became the party candidate. Just look at how he flopped around about supreme court judge nominations and now about states rights and the election. He's a scared little man saying and doing anything he can to please his leader and keep him in power. His word means nothing, he warrants no respect. And now he has 6 more years to poison America.

The senator has suggested that this year’s vote represents the Republican Party’s last gasp, unless something is done to reverse the current state of election operations — the same system he praised in 2016.

My God! Lindsey Graham is sounding more and more like any garden variety autocrat in love with his own power. His desperate need to ingratiate himself with the ruthless sitting president has come down to this: Tampering with state elections to save his hero. Graham is so far over his skis ethically, morally, and politically that he risks breaking his neck--for Donald Trump?

But he proves one thing: As if there were still a shred of doubt, Republicans don't believe in democracy. They're pressuring state election officials in a brazen attempt to reinstitute Jim Crow laws.

It feels like we're back in the 1870s."

I just wish trump would go to florida and tweet his resignation in. He can do a lot of damage in the next two months if allowed to remain in office. He is acting more like -H- every day and not doing himself any good. Hopefully he will drop the I Won attitude and not take that on the road for four years.

Your statement about lindsey has a hole in it. He is a republican so how could he be trying to bring back the democrat jim crowe law. The election wasn't rigged it was just designed to appeal to the lazy voter who had to do nothing to vote except put their unsolicited ballot in the mail.

skudrunner you are a beautiful example of the fact-averse Trumpublican Party (once known as the GOP).

Hillary Clinton conceded to Trump ONE DAY after the election, and she did so graciously. So NO! Trump is NOT acting "more like -H- every day." What is it about Trumpublicans that makes them fact-averse? Why did you write something as false as you did about Mrs. Clinton? Trying to score a point? HINT: You didn't. You showed us that you don't pay attention to anything.

Trump doesn't have it in his character to be gracious, truthful, or presidential. He's a grown babypants who never mentally attained adult maturity. What a disgrace to America, but moreso to the current Trumpublican Party to have this wallowing-in-pity, SORE LOSER, babypants as the leader of the once proud GOP! He represents YOU!

As to your silly statement about Lindsey Graham: Graham is a SOUTHERNER. It was THE SOUTH that instituted the Jim Crow laws and kept them even when the Dixicrats left the Democratic Party and became Republicans.

What a low opinion you have of the military who serve our country and who vote by mail! Also what a low opinion you have of those Americans who cannot vote in person for various reasons --some living out of the country, some handicapped; and what a low opinion you have of responsible Americans who opted to vote by mail during a raging pandemic.

You have no respect for anyone who isn't part of your tribe. The tribe that continues to support the worst president this country has had to suffer under in modern American history.

What you wrote is just Trumpian b.s. And at noon on January 20, 2021, we won't have to listen to Trumpian b.s. on a daily basis anymore!

Thank Darwin for the brave and smart Americans who voted (by mail and in person) Trump's prodigious posterior out of office!

"Inadequate men in big jobs are always dangerous. President Trump has cemented his legacy as an inadequate man who lacks the mental faculties and strength of character necessary for the job.

How many others will prove, by saying and doing nothing, that they too are inadequate?"

From a friend:

"Right now, Ivanka Trump has access to information that Joe Biden doesn't.

Let that sink in for a minute."

A woman best known for having other people design earrings and purses has more access to important classified information than a former US Senator who was the head of the Judiciary Committee and who also served as a vice president and who won the presidency of the U.S. by the larges popular vote in U.S. history!

This is the sort of madness that comes when a political party chooses an insecure, weak, little baby snotnose as the leader of its party and then the U.S.

Trump is a madman, incapable of governing, and yet 70+million Americans wanted to keep him as POTUS?

They're the same people who believe wearing masks during a pandemic is infringing on their FREEDUMBS!

Where exactly would anyone paying attention think we would be heading under djt's rule of chaos, division, racism, corruption, and total complete dishonesty? WE are actually right where we shoild have anticipated we would be 3 1/2 years ago. If not sooner.

Ms Shaw, In the four years since -H- got trounced in the election by a yellow hired non politician she has repeatedly been in the news that she won so you assertion I lied is incorrect. No matter how often you say the passage of the jim crowe law was not by democrats is in fact not true because when they passed the law they were in fact democrats.

On to voting, absentee ballots have been used for decades and they are fine. You have to request the ballot in order to receive it except in the military and certain remote parts of the US. The idea of sending millions of ballots to people who didn't take the effort to request them is what I was referring to and you knew that. I took the effort of requesting an absentee ballot so I could vote but it did require me doing something.
My tribe has been discriminated against for decades but we just don't matter.

Skud... there is no hole in the Lindsey Graham trying to throw out thousands of ballots. The GOP Sec of State got the call, and another member of his office was on the call and verified the specifics of that call. Like another GOP party member who once made a call wanting something illegal, Lindsey has been caught with his unambiguous pants down.

There will be major court cases to overturn the election results in PA, MI, GA and WI, if the judges are fair.

skud, More Americans voted for Hillary Clinton than voted for Trump, so Hillary is correct when she says she won the POPULAR vote. I've not been able to find anything where weeks after she conceded to Trump (she conceded the day after the election) she kept saying she won electorally as the Maniac in the White House is doing. Please provide evidence for your claim that Hillary "repeated" she won after she conceded. HILLARY WON THE POPULAR VOTE AND THAT IS TRUE!

It's interesting to note that in 7 out of the last 8 presidential elections, the DEMOCRATIC candidate won the popular vote. And this time Joe Biden is on track to win the MOST POPULAR votes in US history. In 7 out of the last 8 presidential elections, more Americans voted for the Democratic candidate than for the Republican candidate, but the electoral college doesn't acknowledge the will of the people, so the candidate that the American people actually wants DOESN'T becomes POTUS. A most undemocratic situation.

I never said the Democrats did not pass Jim Crow laws. I pointed out to you and you ignore that those people were also southerners. And when the southern Dixicrats left the Democratic Party because it was heading toward Civil Rights, the SOUTHERN PEOPLE WHO WERE DEMOCRATS AND WHO PASSED JIM CROW LAWS CHANGED PARTIES, BUT THEY REMAINED THE SAME PEOPLE -- SOUTHERNERS.

PS. I am well aware that northerners were as racist and murderous to Americans with dark skin as were the southerners, and that was as inhuman and anti-everything America supposedly stands for. But when I was in school in the 50s and 60s, African-American children were in the same schools I attended, and they didn't need American marshals to escort them to their tax-paid classes as little Ruby Bridges needed down south. Those people who screamed racial slurs at that 6 year old girl maybe were Democrats, but we know for a fact that they were southerners, and southerners were responsible for hundreds and hundreds of murders of black Christian Americans.

And to take this point further -- from 1870 until Jim Crow laws were ended, southern Christians tortured, maimed, and murdered other Christians whose only crime many times was not being sufficiently obsequious to white southerners. When I hear Trumper Christians whine about being discriminated against by people, I wonder if those whiners ever remember what the white southern Christians did to their fellow Christians. I'll tell you: They tortured, maimed, and murdered them because of the color of their skin. Christians killed Christians in America in that shameful era in our history.

The Christianity of the white southerners did NOTHING to deter them from killing fellow Christians did it.

That's history and that's a fact. Their religion failed them on the most human and moral level.

Christian Soldiers
The lynching and torture of blacks in the Jim Crow South weren’t just acts of racism. They were religious rituals.
