Trump never achieved an approval rating of over 50%, even the day after his inauguration on January 20, 2017.

Trump trolls come here every day and denigrate President-elect Biden and ignore the fact that a majority of the American people are happy with the election results and with President-elect Biden.
Trump now says that the burden of proof is on Biden to prove that he actually received 80 million votes! Of course, it doesn't work that way. The burden of proof lies with TRUMP and his insane idea that he, not Biden won the election. And yet, Trump keeps repeating the fantasy that he actually has the proof but the judges won't let his people admit the evidence.
I am overjoyed Trump will be exiting the White House in under two months but equally astounded that he received nearly 74 million votes. He has been a complete failure as president, but it's impossible to deny that he has prodigious talent at selling his lies, his conspiracies, and his fake love of America and her citizens, who are, during HIS presidency, dying at an alarming rate during the worst pandemic in over a century.
Unbelievable, bordering on insanity. His base eats it up (along with his requests for donations to help his defense). A grifter until the very end, Trump is known for his career of lies and self-serving distortions and treachery, and trickery and tawdriness. It's what got him elected, which is more a damning indictment of American citizenship than it is of Donald Trump. He could not have succeeded were it not for the hand-holds and greased ropes and smoke-and-mirrors of a sizable number of people who thought that he was a good idea.
Trump will leave us soon, without a single solitary accomplishment outside his lone election.
He is now an old man, shorn of the grandeur of the presidency, an office that he used as Huey Long once did in Louisiana, a mountebank Elmer Gantry; a fraud who yet commanded an audience because he could entertain them and divert them with the delusion that they were great; that they were worthwhile; that they were the salt of the earth. If they trod on toes and bent the law to suit their purposes, well, what was wrong with that? After all, what else is success if not the other side of the coin of someone else's failures?

The Trumpers actually believe Joe Biden and the Dems "stole" the election. Even tho the Trumper lawyers were turned away from the courts because they had no evidence.

Almost as good as when the Wisconsin recount Trump had to pay for actually increased Biden's lead there slightly. Trump paid three million dollars to find another eighty Biden votes.
Paula's comment is sadly true. The wingnut "news" sites I read are just repeating Trump's claims that there's vast evidence of vote fraud. They make it sound like Trump has a real shot at overturning the election in court and remaining president. They're enabling their readers to postpone recognizing reality. When it finally hits them, it will hit hard.

If it had not been for djt's complete mishandling of covid and the hospitalizations and death tolls that have and continue to be the results of that mishandling trump would have been reelected. I certain of it. Which is why trumpism will comtinue to flourish even after trump has left DC.
