JUST KEEP IN MIND ON THIS MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND…

what Trump said about POWs:

He likes people who weren’t captured.

Trump mocked an American POW, the late John McCain

AND Trump called military men and women who fought and died for our country “ losers” and “suckers.”

You can Google that to check the veracity of those statements.

People who think of themselves as patriotic Americans will vote for the contemptible and dishonorable human who said those despicable words about our veterans

Ask yourself:  what kind of Americans would want THAT as a CiC??

I’ll keep saying this. The problem is not that one politician is so deranged and indecent. It’s the tens of millions of Americans either want this or, at the least, find it acceptable.

Cadet Bone Spurs, who never served in the military, as did no male member of his family, brags about getting a Purple Heart the easy way.

Not anyone with any self love and respect i would say. But that's me. For some it's probably too simple and true a concept. Speaking specifically of the cult of trump. Which is now nearly the gop in its entirety.

The Attempted Destruction of American's Experiment in Self Rule as Fomented by the MAGA Cult of Trump is a book that some bright historian should write so future generations will never forget the destructive & inhuman personality and "intellect" of the Fuhrer wannabe DJT.

We'll never see the America or CiC that i truly want. But as has been said, hope springs eternal.

So all of the indignation against a president who championed a strong economy, low unemployment, a secure border, low inflation and no wars. Now they support a president who has three wars, an open border, high inflation and illegally spends billions of tax payers money to buy votes by paying off rich kids student loans. I will go along with leslie the enlightened, "For some it's probably too simple and true a concept"

Wasn't that long ago that Corporal Bone spurs announced that General Miley was a traitor and des3rved the death penalty. The former JCS head and Trump advisor responded with
""As much as these comments are directed at me, it’s also directed at the institution of the military. And there is 2.1 million of us in uniform," Milley continued. "And the American people can take it to the bank, that all of us, every single one of us, from private to general, are loyal to that Constitution and will never turn our back on it no matter what. No matter what the threats, no matter what the humiliation, no matter what."
Happy Memorial Day.

Skud, you have a short memory and a clouded one at that.

You go right ahead and vote for the guy who disrespected our fallen soldiers, sexually assaulted/raped women, cheated on his taxes, and is facing 88 criminal charges. You’re welcome to that pile of human garbage.

Your memory of Trump’s administration is bonkers.

Neither Trump, MAGA [the Trump political slogan], or skudsy's convoluted meandering BS will save America from what its karma has accumulated and carries on its back.. Bank on it. Cause and Effect. Learned yet quickly forgotten or ignored.

Because of the American belief in the false concept of American Exceptionalism we find ourselves an emotionally and intellectually struggling nation.

The future of this nation, indeed the planet, rests in the hands of the young and all future generations. We should pray the universe ultimately extinguishes the beliefs of MAGA and fascism as well as the acceptance of otherism at every turn and all level.

Hope springs eternal.

Clouded or Deluded? The answer depends on the degree of skudzy's obscurations methinks.

And yet there is support for a family of serial adulterers including one member who allowed a young girl to die, although no charges including involuntary manslaughter were ever filed. Yes wealth and privilege does have it's benefits but it does show how one sided our society is.

Skudrunner, you’ve identified yourself as a Libertarian here on PE in the past, but the Libertarian Party HATES Trump.

You really are a Trumpublican, according to how you continue to praise him and his administration.

This was posted by a Libertarian after Trump appeared at their convention this week:

Libertarian convention attendee:

“I don't know what Trump was thinking coming to our convention. I could tell he was frustrated, he's never had a crowd of people like us. He absolutely deserved all of that hate for being a warmonger, the lockdown policies, not ending the deep state, printing trillions, and being just an overall liar. He absolutely will not get any votes from us.”

Les Carpenter said...

Well skudsy, looks like your game may be running out.

As this empty form always suspected, you are looking more and more like a trump cultist.

Just come clean bro. Doing so will at least set you free and earn you some credibility.

skudrunner said...

Ms. Shaw, Unlike most leftists I am not obsessed with trump but think a lot of the charges against him are BS. Paying a hooker does not merit a weeks long media circus where the witnesses are a known lying thief and a hooker who doesn't she was paid enough.

I have never claimed to be a libertarian but do side with some of their ideals like limited government. I am a devout independent fiscal conservative and a social liberal. I don't care who someone sleeps with or what they identify as just don't spend taxpayer money to achieve it. I believe everyone should pay their fair share of taxes and a dept owed is a responsibility for the borrower not your neighbor.

If you paid attention to my posts you know that all politicians are the scum of the earth who only want to enrich themselves and get reelected to keep their power over the people. I also believe trump is the worst of the worst as a person but he did accomplish many things for the majority of the American people. This is in contrast to his successor who has never accomplished anything for the majority in over 40 years of government day care and treats tax dollars as a give away vote buying kitty. Now he can't remember when he was VP, that he never was a candidate for West Point or that his uncle was not eaten by cannibals when he crashed at sea. I would say it is senility but he has been this way all his life so I will attribute it to convenient memory.

Who am I supporting in the upcoming debacle, maybe non of the above

Please be as specific as possible...

Trump's Top Lies: A Presidential Legacy

Donald Trump’s presidency was marked by numerous falsehoods and misleading statements. PolitiFact and other fact-checking organizations have documented thousands of instances, illustrating a pattern of misinformation that ranged from exaggerations to outright fabrications. One of the most notorious examples was Trump’s claim that the 2020 election was "stolen," a falsehood that fueled the January 6 Capitol riot and was repeatedly debunked by multiple courts and officials (The Independent) (PolitiFact).

Another significant lie was his assertion that COVID-19 was under control and would "disappear" with warmer weather, downplaying the severity of the pandemic and contradicting health experts (The Independent).

Trump's presidency also saw frequent lies about immigration, such as his claim that Mexicans were "swarming" the U.S. border in a 2016 campaign ad, using footage from Morocco instead (PolitiFact).

skudrunner said...

Ms. Shaw, Many of the things trump did helped the middle class and poor. These are just a few of the accomplishments. I did not see where he gave money to rich kids and make their neighbors pay their tuition but I am still looking.

America gained 7 million new jobs – more than three times government experts’ projections.

The unemployment rate reached 3.5 percent, the lowest in a half-century.

More Americans reported being employed than ever before – nearly 160 million.

Unemployment rates for African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans, Native Americans, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and those without a high school diploma all reached record lows.
Unemployment for women hit its lowest rate in nearly 70 years.
Lifted nearly 7 million people off of food stamps.
Poverty rates for African Americans and Hispanic Americans reached record lows.

African American homeownership increased from 41.7 percent to 46.4 percent.

Put in place policies to bring back supply chains from overseas.

Created more than 1.2 million manufacturing and construction jobs.

Instead of 2-for-1, we eliminated 8 old regulations for every 1 new regulation adopted

Reduced the direct cost of regulatory compliance by $50 billion
Removed nearly 25,000 pages from the Federal Register – more than any other president. The previous administration added over 16,000 pages.

Signed an executive order to make it easier for businesses to offer retirement plans.

Reduced approval times for major infrastructure projects from 10 or more years down to 2 years or less.

Helped community banks by signing legislation that rolled back costly provisions of Dodd-Frank.

Deregulation had an especially beneficial impact on low-income Americans who pay a much higher share of their incomes for overregulation.

Immediately withdrew from the job-killing Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

Ended the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), and replaced it with the brand new United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).

Imposed tariffs on hundreds of billions worth of Chinese goods to protect American jobs

Withdrew from the unfair, one-sided Paris Climate Agreement.

Canceled the previous administration’s Clean Power Plan, and replaced it with the new Affordable Clean Energy rule.

Approved the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines.

Grey One talks sass said...

skud, you posted "Instead of 2-for-1, we eliminated 8 old regulations for every 1 new regulation adopted"

Who is we? Where did you find this stuff. Do you have any receipts? Because I don't have to believe a word you post because you've yet to source your outrageous claims...

For example, FactCheck.org posted this little nugget about Trump's admin "The economy lost 2.9 million jobs. The unemployment rate increased by 1.6 percentage points to 6.3%." so when you say "America" (but you mean Trump - telling innit?) gained 7 million new jobs – more than three times government experts’ projections, that's not the whole picture. You wouldn't grade President Biden on a curve, why the special treatment for a politician? Aren't they all horrible according to you?

By the way, this item "Approved the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines." is not the win you think it is. The First Nations opposed both projects vehemently or did I dream First Nation protestors getting fire hosed in zero degree weather?

It's sad to see you like this skud, scurrying about looking for crumbs to show what a good person Trump is; this human you say you despise. I guess we can't take you at your word ever again. Sad.

You would think a Libertarian poster would have mentioned the Trump addition to the National Debt. $8.4 trillion. In 4 years. It took Obama 8 years to add $9.3 trillion. His Supreme Court appointments have led to the lowest popularity of that institution ever and created the huge GOP disadvantage on abortion. As far as the Jan 6th 'tourist visit', which was proven false, the election was stolen, or was the cause of the Jan 6 disgrace?
Whatta guy, now he placing his sycophants on state election boards. Just in case.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Skud, Trump left the WH with the worst jobs numbers in modern presidential history. The worst.

He was scandalously incompetent in handling the COVID pandemic. Thousands of Americans died unnecessarily as a result of his incompetence.

Trump added trillions to the deficit. Trillions.

And he incited an insurrection to stop the peaceful transition of power as is the norm for our country — all based on a dirty lie.

That just scratches the surface of all the failures of his four years as president.

But you do you and admire the serial adulterer, rapist, and tax fraudster. I’m wondering if you hope your grandchildren, if you have any, grow up to be the moral equivalent of Trump.

skudrunner said...

Grey https://trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov/trump-administration-accomplishments/

I think it is called a pandemic which caused economic issues. Yes thousands died because of the tainted advice by falsi and his ridiculous lockdown. Scare people enough and they become sheeple. I will assume his fast tracking the vaccine was a mistake and we should have taken the four years plus to have something.

I prefer someone who will do something for the majority instead of a president who's accomplishments are to give away money people worked for to those who didn't. Robin Hood was a good fiction and a feel good story but doesn't work except for those who's only goal is to be taken care of.

Dave Miller said...

Skud... such a cute little cut and paste. Did you even look at some of these boilerplate items frequently found on MAGA blogs?

Here's a favorite of mine... Trump... "Ended the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), and replaced it with the brand new United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA)."

So? What does this mean? All the Trump Admin did was renegotiate NAFTA after 25 years to make it work better in today's economy. That's called doing the job.

Here's another... Trump... "Reduced approval times for major infrastructure projects from 10 or more years down to 2 years or less."

So??? He could never get ANY infrastructure off the ground and done. But I'll admit I'm sure Biden is reaping the rewards on this because his admin actually is making infrastructure projects all across the US happen.

And another... Trump... "Put in place policies to bring back supply chains from overseas."

Really? Did it work? Can you cite the numbers of "supply chains" that have returned? Again, the Biden signed Chips Act actually has semiconductors being built in the US for the first time in years.

And finally... Trump... "Imposed tariffs on hundreds of billions worth of Chinese goods to protect American jobs"

So, one of your accomplishments is that Trump increased prices, through tariffs, on goods the American public like and want to buy. Fantastic.

As Grey asked... do you have any receipts?

Les Carpenter said...

I think everybody has been looking for skudsy's receipts. He must have lost them all with his schoolwork.

skudrunner said...

Rev, No Matter what I provide, which I did, you will find fault. I am among the hoards of independents that are going to select none of the above. I can't vote for the evil one and won't vote for the destroy punish success joey.
NAFTA was not in the interest of the US but did favor your adopted country Mexico
The chips act is great for Taiwan and tariffs are a necessary evil. I would favor zero tariffs but when the rest of the world puts tariffs on US goods we lose. Now we have a president who changed his mind and wants to place tariffs on china which he was against a few years ago.

Dave Miller said...

Fault Skud? Of course I'll find fault. Because you mostly provide talking points, aside from your "fair tax". Where are some realistic thought out positions from YOU. Not someone else?

NAFTA BTW helped both countries. And yes, you're right, now Biden, as Dems have done for years, wants tariffs. The surprise is the GOP being for them too.

Grey One talks sass said...

skud, fact checking the items you post is not finding fault. It's fact checking. Telling that you conflate opinions you post here with your own identity. Not sure that's the look you are going for but as it's been said many times, you do you.

Please explain how bringing manufacturing jobs through the CHIPS Act back to the USA is good for Taiwan? Use simple words as if I'm in kindergarten. Because as I see it, the new Microsoft building currently under construction in Wisconsin is a win for the USA, correct? What am I missing?

Sigh. Apparently adapting to the conditions on the ground is a step too far for you skudsy. President Biden is considering tariffs on China is not the same as the former guy doing it, mostly because Biden is a thoughtful human who consults OBM to ensure his actions don't tank the economy. The former guy would place a tariff on his own mother if he thought it would buy him political points. Why can't you see that? Do you need your vision checked? Do you see spots?

Finally, if I have come down hard on you personally it's because of your willful belief in things that just are not factual. It's also because of your habit of moving the goal posts in a conversation so you can score your gotcha, not a polite thing to do in good faith conversations. Fact checks on the items you post is not finding fault. What I just said in this paragraph definitely is finding fault, with the caveat that I want you to be a better human. Not sure why you can't see that many of us here would just like you to stop spreading already debunked lies. It's a bad look on you. Again, why can't you see that? If I could fit you with lenses to see through the propaganda I would have already done it. Not sure how to break its hold on your brain.

Les Carpenter said...

Suggestion if I may, for skudsy. Meditate. Focus on Impermance, Emptiness (actually fullness when understood), as well as Compassion and Loving Kindness.

Transformational stuff skudsy. It opened my eyes to the nature of mind and reality.

See skudsy, I was just like you. Until the fever broke a few years back.

We all know you mean well skudsy. But, as Grey One talks sass pointed out, you really need to adjust your view.

Dave Miller said...

Thank you Grey...

Look Skud, I don't think Biden is anyone's first, or maybe even second or third choice. But our options this election are binary.

An aging Biden who slips up, says stupid stuff and sometimes gets it wrong.

Or...

An aging narcissistic Trump who says stupid stuff, lies continuously and frequently gets it wrong.

The difference here is only one candidate has openly spoke of "terminating the Constitution", called dissenting Americans "vermin", wants to take the US out of NATO and has publicly spoke of limiting Americans access to vote.

And that's before we even get to Roe.

I guess in the end people can hold their noses and reject both candidates, but if in so doing Trump is elected, those peoples purity is BS. Just like their conscience.

Because at this point, any vote not cast for Biden and any vote for a candidate not named Biden, is a vote FOR Trump and will be to the detriment of our country.

At least IMHO.

Dave Miller said...

More fact checking...

Skud's list claimed that the Trump Admin "Removed nearly 25,000 pages from the Federal Register – more than any other president"

When Trump entered office, there were 185,000 pages of regulatory code, according to US Government Statistics. When he left office, there were, according to the same US Gov't Stats, 186,000 pages.

I may not be a math scholar, but that looks to me like a slight increase. BTW, in fairness, over 8 years the Obama Admin did add close to 30k pages.

As Grey has said, this is not finding fault, it's providing verifiable facts, supported by US Government numbers. Which I know all MAGA people dismiss, untill their guy is in office.

But keep in mind, these numbers come from when Trump was in office.

skudrunner said...

Rev, Is that like if you don't vote for me you ain't black.
Unlike some I don't have a trump obsession but I do have a middle class obsession which joey b is all against. Joey b will probably win and I want him to serve his full four year term. He has no decision making responsibility and that wouldn't change unless his VP take over which is frightening. She puts a new definition of incompetent in place and that is scary because she will want to make decisions.

Les Carpenter said...

Yup, numbers and information >b>not verified by a MAGA bot appointee is generally and automatically considered fake news.

Grey One talks sass said...

Just read multiple accounts from the former losing guys spokespeople promising retribution for making their glorious leader face criminal charges like (gulp) a regular citizen of the USA. One of them went so far as to say that anyone who criticizes their dear leader deserved criminal charges! What are we, North Korea? Oh yeah, the former guy and their leader are in love, or so said the former guy back in the day (H/T Randy Rainbow who made the topic memorable).

And skud goes again at 7:06 PM last night, sounding exactly like the former guys spokes critters, inuendo, accusations, whining, and not a fact to be found.

Here is a fact or two I remember: Unions made the middle class strong by focusing the power of the worker to get the corporations hiring them responsible for when things go wrong, or paying the worker their due wage. Only one President EVER stood with workers on the strike line.

skudsy has no clue what either the Pres or the Veep have done wrong but talking heads say the pair is horrible so they must be guilty of something (if I follow MAGA logic rules correctly).

Only no, just no.

One - purges of undesirables are not a new thing. Weird how the only creature that survives a purge intact is authority. The rest are those who never question authority, those who support authority by doing the dirty work authority would never stoop to do themselves, and those who keep their head down hoping for a chance to raise their heads; to rebel, take over, and become the exact same thing as authority. When authority beats "Cruelty is the Point" into the psyche it tends to repeat.

Two - context from CNN about the crack "if you don't vote for me you ain't black"

The setting - forgot to get the dates but you can find the article. Biden is on the campaign trail interviewing with The Breakfast Club and had to cut the interview short. Added note, Biden has apologized for this gaff. Guess one can touch the world through ones basement when one has the power of the interwebz.

From CNN transcripts: on second comment.

Grey One talks sass said...

Part two: The whole interview is interesting. Worth a read.

From CNN transcripts:

Quote start-
“I do that to white media and black media because my wife has to go on at 6 o’clock,” Biden said, referring to his wife Jill Biden apparently needing to use the broadcast studio they’ve built in their basement in Delaware as the coronavirus pandemic has knocked Biden off the campaign trail. Glancing at his watch, Biden said, “uh oh, I’m in trouble.”

Charlamagne told Biden that he should come to the studio in New York City for another interview, telling the former vice president that “we’ve got more questions.”

“You’ve got more questions?” Biden replied. “Well I tell you what, if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.”

Charlamagne responded, “It don’t have nothing to do with Trump. It has to do with the fact, I want something for my community.”

“Take a look at my record, man!” Biden shot back.

Later on Friday afternoon, Biden addressed his comments in a call with the US Black Chamber of Commerce, saying, “I shouldn’t have been so cavalier” and insisting he doesn’t take black voters for granted.

“The bottom line of all of this perhaps I was much too cavalier. I know that the comments have come off like I was taking the African American vote for granted but nothing could be further from the truth. I’ve never, ever done that and I’ve earned it every time I’ve run,” he said.

end quote

Added note: There is one person in our current presidential election who gives a rats patoot about We The People and our Representative Democracy. There is another who only cares for themselves as evidenced by their definition of We The People to mean only those who follow and worship the cult's dear leader. And there is a spoiler candidate, taking monies from at least one known Trump donor. A vote for them is a vote not cast for President Biden meaning in a close race, which this is, Trump wins. Again. Welcome to the Heritage Foundations interpretation of the Hand Maidens Tale with a side of Return of the Holocaust - this time they'll get genocide right!

Hyperbole? Maybe, maybe not. How much history have you read?

Dave Miller said...

Skud asked... "Rev, Is that like if you don't vote for me you ain't black."

Not at all.

It's a statement and belief based on statements from candidate Trump about what he would do as president if elected. It's also based on his performance in office, especially on Jan 6 when while protestors were beating over 100 US police officers, defacing the US Capitol and hunting down the Vice President so they could hang him, he approvingly stood by and watched [according to multiple sworn witnesses], doing nothing to stop the violence for over 3 hours.

For the life of me, I cannot understand how anyone can even consider voting for a man who acted as Trump did on Jan 6. He showed disdain for our Constitution, the rule of law, our police and the American system of governance, including the peaceful transfer of power.

I stated "any vote not cast for Biden and any vote for a candidate not named Biden, is a vote FOR Trump and will be to the detriment of our country.

I believe that and I stand by that. 100%. Because we have Trump's very words and actions while in office to show us how he will govern.

Les Carpenter said...

Willful blindness and willful deafness is most certainly the force behind MAGA. trump, going into the election is highly dependent on ignorance and delusion for success.

We'll soon now just how ignorant and delusional America is by the post election numbers.
