More children die by gunfire in a year than on-duty police officers & active military members.

The two states with the lowest rates of gun deaths, Hawaii and Massachusetts, are among those with the toughest gun measures.

The two with the highest gun death rates, Mississippi and Louisiana, were ranked among those with the weakest firearms legislation.

It is now more dangerous to be a child in America than to be a LEO or on active military duty.

FACT.

American exceptionalism.

No other technologically advanced country devalues its children the way America does.

This is a disgrace. Shameful. Horrendous.

The Science Is Clear: Gun Control Saves Lives
By enacting simple laws that make guns safer and harder to get, we can prevent killings like the ones in Uvalde and Buffalo

"The science is abundantly clear: More guns do not stop crime.

Guns kill more children each year than auto accidents.

More children die by gunfire in a year than on-duty police officers and active military members.

Guns are a public health crisis, just like COVID, and in this, we are failing our children, over and over again.

A study comparing gun deaths the U.S. to other high-income countries in Europe and Asia tells us that our homicide rate in teens and young adults is 49 times higher.

Our firearm suicide rate is eight times higher. The U.S. has more guns than any of the countries in the comparison.

We need to become the kind of country that looks at guns for what they are: weapons that kill. And treat them with the kind of respect that insists they be harder to get and safer to use.

And then we need to become the kind of country that says the lives of children are more valuable than the right to weapons that have killed them, time and again.

Since Columbine.

Since Sandy Hook.

Since always."

It has been 23 years since Columbine and we have leaned so hard into 2A that there are more guns than people in the US. This is who we have chosen to be, this is our SHAME.

It's a sad commentary on the US.

What this says about us as a people truly is shameful. That we care so little for our children that we allow this to continue is absolutely the bottom of the barrel for our society. Disgusting and far beyond time to do something to change it.

Only seriosly flawed individuals would think our NRA gun/death culture is somehow normal or acceptable.

America's shame indeed.

RN It IS America's shame!

I'm astounded at how many Americans have swallowed the NRA and Trumpubican talking points about America's gun culture.

As I've said, this is a manmade problem that can be solved by us if we have the courage and will power to do so.
