 BREAKING:

"Mitch Mcconnell endorses Donald Trump for president: 'It should come as no surprise that as nominee, he will have my support.'

Here’s what Mitch said about Trump after Jan. 6:

"January 6 was a disgrace. American citizens attacked their own government. They used terrorism…They did this because they had been fed wild falsehoods by the most powerful man on Earth — because he was angry he'd lost an election. Former President Trump's actions preceding the riot were a disgraceful dereliction of duty.”

Spineless hypocrite and disgusting coward. He's backing Trump, whom he acknowledged incited an insurrection against the United States because he would not accept the fact that he lost the 2020 election.

Party over country. May McConnell's name forever live in infamy.

Sen. Mitch McConnell is a cowardly, feckless shell of a man who of course was never going to show any real courage. Just like the rest of the Republican Party, he's ready to allow America to descend into Trumpian fascism as long as he can protect his own perks and privileges.

Here are excerpts from Mitch McConnell's speech on the Senate floor, February 13, 2021 condemning the then former president. Read these carefully and ask yourself this...

How can a man who believes the POTUS essentially abandoned his oath of office, was derelict in his duties, celebrated people who beat police officers bloody and encouraged rioters to "kill VP Mike Pence" now endosre that man for another term as the US President?

“January 6th was a disgrace.

“American citizens attacked their own government. They used terrorism to try to stop a specific piece of democratic business they did not like.

“Fellow Americans beat and bloodied our own police. They stormed the Senate floor. They tried to hunt down the Speaker of the House. They built a gallows and chanted about murdering the Vice President.

“They did this because they had been fed wild falsehoods by the most powerful man on Earth — because he was angry he’d lost an election.

“Former President Trump’s actions preceding the riot were a disgraceful dereliction of duty.

“The House accused the former President of, quote, ‘incitement.’ That is a specific term from the criminal law.

“Let me put that to the side for one moment and reiterate something I said weeks ago: There is no question that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of that day.

“The people who stormed this building believed they were acting on the wishes and instructions of their President.

“The leader of the free world cannot spend weeks thundering that shadowy forces are stealing our country and then feign surprise when people believe him and do reckless things.

“Sadly, many politicians sometimes make overheated comments or use metaphors that unhinged listeners might take literally.

“This was different.

“This was an intensifying crescendo of conspiracy theories, orchestrated by an outgoing president who seemed determined to either overturn the voters’ decision or else torch our institutions on the way out.

“The unconscionable behavior did not end when the violence began.

“Whatever our ex-President claims he thought might happen that day… whatever reaction he says he meant to produce… by that afternoon, he was watching the same live television as the rest of the world.

“A mob was assaulting the Capitol in his name. These criminals were carrying his banners, hanging his flags, and screaming their loyalty to him.

“It was obvious that only President Trump could end this.

“Former aides publicly begged him to do so. Loyal allies frantically called the Administration.

“But the President did not act swiftly. He did not do his job. He didn’t take steps so federal law could be faithfully executed, and order restored.

“Instead, according to public reports, he watched television happily as the chaos unfolded. He kept pressing his scheme to overturn the election!

“Even after it was clear to any reasonable observer that Vice President Pence was in danger… even as the mob carrying Trump banners was beating cops and breaching perimeters… the President sent a further tweet attacking his Vice President.

“Predictably and foreseeably under the circumstances, members of the mob seemed to interpret this as further inspiration to lawlessness and violence.

“Later, even when the President did halfheartedly begin calling for peace, he did not call right away for the riot to end. He did not tell the mob to depart until even later.

“And even then, with police officers bleeding and broken glass covering Capitol floors, he kept repeating election lies and praising the criminals.

Anonymous, you're spot on. Without a doubt. You're also to kind. Trump, McConnell, and the entire gop are nothing but gutless self interested a*sholes that care nothing about this country beyond what it gives them personally and directly benefits them and their tribe if a*sholes.

I have no doubt now that, as Liz Cheney said, "We are slow-walking ourselves into Fascism."

And all who continue to support Trump are complicit in the betrayal of America for a mentally deteriorating Liar, Cheat, Fraud, and Rapist.

Trump is telling us every day how he plans to change America and who he will put in places of authority.

Trump has said he would bring the convicted felon, Mike Flynn, to the WH should Trump be elected.

These are Mike Flynn's own words:

“If we are going to have one nation under God, which we must, we have to have one religion,” he said. “One nation under God and one religion under God, right? All of us, working together.”

That, of course, is a direct violation of the US Constitution, and those words were spoken to crowds by a convicted felon, whom Donald Trump said would find a job again in his administration.

Donald Trump said this, talking about his LIE that the 2020 election was stolen:

"A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution,

You don't believe that s.o.b. would do such an unthinkable thing?

You're wrong.

Trump and the ex-felons he plans to have join him in DC if he's elected WILL DO WHATEVER THEY WANT TO. They're planning for this already.

No one believed the highly educated Germans could fall for a raving maniacal, ex-house painter, but it did.

Trump even uses Hitlerian language to enrage his cultists:

Trump says immigrants are ‘poisoning the blood of our country.’

(Trump's mother was an immigrant, as was his first wife, and is his third wife, whose parents came in by "chain migration," which Trump denigrated and wants to stop.)

Trump calls political enemies ‘vermin,’ echoing dictators Hitler, Mussolini

I know one of P.E.'s commenters thinks Trump and Biden are both no good for this country. Wat skud fails to acknowledge is that NEVER has Biden EVER come close to promising to turn our country in to an authoritarian/fascistic dystopia.

Trump tells us every day that is his goal.

We are dancing with the ghost of Adolph Hitler in the human form of a narcissistic fascist a*shole and the Gestapo in the form of the authoritarian gop cult of liars.

When, and i now believe it inevitable with our now corrupt scotus majority pining for Trump, Trump takes the reins of power again we will be targeted and punished unless we pledge allegiance to the Great Orange Scum of America. Donald J. Trump.

Well, some will stand ready to tell him to s*it in his hat. If given the opportunity to do so i'll thoroughly enjoy it. Regardless of consequences.

Fmr President trump last night in his victory speech described the United States of America as a third world country.

May the Trump supporters reading this let that sink in.

The former president believes the US, a country thousands risk their lives daily to enter to live, work and make their home, is a third world country.

But like a lot of the BS trump peddles, what he is saying is simply not true.

Nowhere else on the planet has an economy like ours, freedom of speech like ours, a right to bear arms like ours, a social security safety net like ours, a military as powerful and effective as ours, diversity like ours, educational opportunities like ours, an election system as free and fair as ours and a government of checks and balances like ours.

None. No other country anywhere on the planet.

And yet the man who wants to be president calls us a .

Trump the convicted rapist, fraudster, 91 times indicted ex-president hates America, or he would not be lying about us.

We are the envy of the world. But sadly, he cannot, or will not see it, because he has no use for "of the people, by the people and for the people".

For him, it's all about Trump.

When I say the current Republican Party is on a rampage to fundamentally change America, I'm NOT exaggerating.

Here's a guy who's the Republican nominee for

North Carolina Republican nominee for governor Mark Robinson:

“I absolutely want to go back to the America where women couldn’t vote.”

The North Carolina Republican’s longing for the days when women couldn’t vote ties into his history of demeaning women and mocking feminism, especially on social media. He’s claimed that feminism was created by Satan. He’s said that men who identify as feminists are “about as MANLY as a pair of lace panties” and are “weak mined, jelly backed ‘men.’” He’s routinely referred to feminists as “fem-nazis” and, in one particularly colorful post, described those who support equal rights for women as “sexist, hairy armpit having, poo-poo hat wearing pinkos.”

“The only thing worse than a woman who doesn’t know her place, is a man who doesn’t know his,” he wrote on Facebook in December 2017.

Channeling the late televangelist Pat Robertson, he has claimed that Satan himself is using “lesbianism and feminism” to destroy traditional families.

In still more Facebook posts, the GOP gubernatorial nominee strangely equated feminism with sexism and racism.

Now why do you suppose he'd make such an outrageous statements like that?

BECAUSE IT IS WOMEN IN RED STATES WHO'VE VOTED TO SECURE GIRLS' AND WOMEN'S REPRODUCTION RIGHTS WHEN THOSE RIGHTS WERE PUT ON A REFERENDUM.

Are you beginning to see their goals now.

(Of course, it would take 3/4 of the US states, 38 out of 50, to amend the Constitution, and take away women's right to vote. I don't see that happening.)

Robinson is not the only one who's proposed this, either.

In 2021 ocnservative pundit Ann Coulter spoke at Missouri State, and said that women shouldn't have the right to vote.

When they tell you who they are, BELIEVE THEM. And the current Republican Party and its leader, Trump, are telling you that they want to take away women's rights, and turn this country into some sort of Christian Nationalist dystopia.

The Captain of the Mother Ship thought his speech last night was "very good."

"VERY GOOD SPEECH. Not too egomaniacal, gave point after point of what he did during his presidency, reminded us that America’s a good place, reminded us of the damage Biden has done."

She is so besotted with Trump that when he called America a "third world country," and insulted this country (as he often does) her mind shut down. It's the only explanation for her absurd description of his speech. Also, she's a cultist, and cultists never think their cult leader EVER says anything wrong.

This dude, the ignorant fool that he is, just like the orange hued human orangutan, is one of millions who wish to walk this nation back to the dark ages socially.

This is, the American republican party 2024. With absolutely no indications it is going to do anything but get that much more authoritarian, misogynistic, racist, criminal, and ignorant.

2024 is beyond pivotal. If Trump wins and the corrupt scotus gives him the immunity he is salivating for, America will never again look like a Shining Beacon of Freedom and Liberty.

You can take that to the bank.

With growing interest in polls showing a close race, the primary contests of both Mr. Trump and President Biden reflected a statistical trend going back at least a couple of years: the overperformance of Democrats and the underperformance of Republicans in relation to polling predictions.

While Mr. Trump won handily in most states against his GOP rivals (Vermont being the exception, which was won by Ms. Haley), he consistently did so with a smaller spread than polling had suggested. Since 2021 this has been a frequent occurrence in special elections and most dramatically in 2022 when voters did not deliver the Congressional "Red Wave" that polling (and many in the national media) had predicted.

This trend, in conjunction with Mr. Trump's relatively weak showing in his primary contests, is causing Republican strategists to worry, at least behind closed doors, that Mr. Biden is headed for a definitive reelection victory."

Ray said...

Despite the relentless criticism, Donald Trump's crushing primary victory was because he remains the moral and spiritual beacon of the Republican Party, not just because he was convicted of sexual abuse or fined 450 million for fraud in the great state of New York, but because he had the courage to take top secret military and nuclear documents, hide them by a toilet at his private club, to use later for self gain at the expense of national security, and because no other man will protect the sanctity of the state controlling the insides of women's bodies and the bottom 50% of Americans owning just .6% of the stock market and 2.6% of the nations wealth.

Forget the politics of McConnell.

His character, or lack of it, has been 100% revealed in his support of a man who attacked his wife with racist slurs. How does a man even talk to someone who, with no remorse, attacks his wife, denigrating and using racist slurs to demean her?

Now I am sure -FJ, maybe Skud and certainly the extreme MAGA folks will challenge me on this, saying politics is dirty, get over it. But their sophistry is duly noted before they even try.

Because if someone they knew had done the same to one of their loved ones, they'd never defend that person. Never.

But that's how it is with a cult. Defend the leader at all cost, because his or her downfall exposes the cult members as the dupes that they are.

Les Carpenter said...

Everyone with even a modicum of intelligence and reasoning ability already know the MAGA cultists are dupes, anti American, and pro facist authoritarian Dave. Only the cultists themselves are blind to their own ignorance.
