Most reports I am seeing say JD Vance won the debate. Even my most left leaning friends acknowledge they agree.
Will it matter? Hard to say.
JD is a more polished relaxed speaker. On delivery JD won.
I would argue that superfolous rhetoric stripped away so substance could be read in a quiet contemplative environment Walz beat the hell out of JD on substance and truth.
And no, I doubt VERY much it matters.
Vance won if we count the number of lies told and his inability to say who won the 2020 election as a measure of negative winning.
Vice Presidential debates usually don't move the needle on presidential elections however, the remarkable performance my JD Vance most Certainly Did?
Regarding healthcare, here are a few facts detailing the promises of Trump...
January 2017… Trump said “he was close to completing his health care plan and that he wanted to provide ‘insurance for everybody’.”
February 2017… Trump said the “repeal and replacement of ObamaCare is moving fast!”
March 2017… Trump said “Despite what you hear in the press, healthcare is coming along great. We are talking to many groups and it will end in a beautiful picture!”
March 2017… again… Trump said “I want to have a great health care bill and plan, and we will. It will happen. And it won’t be in the very distant future.”
October 2017… Trump said “ObamaCare is a broken mess. Piece by piece we will now begin the process of giving America the great HealthCare it deserves!”
March 2018… Trump said “we’re working on a [healthcare] plan now…”
April 2019… Trump said “It [our healthcare plan] will be on full display during the [2020] Election as a much better & less expensive alternative to ObamaCare…”
June 2019… Trump said “We’re going to produce phenomenal health care. And we already have the concept of the plan. And it’ll be much better health care…”
June 2019… Trump said “If we win the House back, keep the Senate and keep the presidency, we’ll have a plan that blows away ObamaCare…”
October 2019… Trump said “If the Republicans take back the House, keep the Senate, keep the presidency — we’re gonna have a fantastic plan…”
May 2020 Trump said… Obamacare would be replaced “with great healthcare at a lesser price, and preexisting conditions will be included and you won’t have the individual mandate.”
July 2020 Trump said… “We’re signing a health care plan within two weeks, a full and complete health care plan…”
July 2020 Trump said… a “very inclusive” health care plan was coming and “I’ll be signing it sometime very soon.”
Currently… Trump says he has the “concepts” of a healthcare plan.
All of this is easily verifiable on Google for the clowns who will insist the list is all made up.
As for energy production and the "Drill baby drill" mantra from the MAGA clowns...
The US is producing more oil now than anyone in the history of the planet has ever produced.

Anyone who claims differently is either an idiot, lying or willfully ignorant.
No. The debate did not move the needle. And Vance's negativities are in double digits. The country doesn't like him. However, the country LOVES Gov. Walz.
JD Vance Is Deeply Unpopular

This won't change anything for the MAGA crowd. We understand that Trump could murder someone and his cultists would never leave him. It's TDS. Trump Derangement Syndrome.
His cultists are with him even though he's a convicted felon, adjudicated rapist, tax cheat, called service men and women "losers and suckers," and even admitted recently that he "lost the 2020 election by a whisker."
Their devotion to Trump is not about him; it's about themselves and their need to "own the libs," and "burn it all down," and to Hell with laws and traditions and good government. For an example of this kind of irrationality, read skud's admission that he thinks Vance (Trump's vp choice) would make a good POTUS.

Corpo-Media needs to say Vance won, but on "style" not substance. That's how actors are judged, not debates.
In a real debate, the winner is the one who didn't lie, deflect, and ignore the topic and questions.
