They've been attacking her since she won her primary, so that is certain evidence that she's someone they fear:
She's a Latina, she's young, she's well educated, and she's part of the newly-elected, diverse Democratic majority in the House.

No. She did not say there were 3 branches of Congress. She said there were 3 branches of government, the presidency, the House, and the Senate. Wrong. It's the Executive, the Legislative, and the Judiciary. But if we only had people in elected office who NEVER misspoke or said something incorrect, we'd have no one in government.
The people who jumped all over Casio-Cortez are the same people who say nothing about the avalanch of idiotic nonsense that comes out of Trump's pie hole. Examples:

All politicians, I dare say all people, will fail if they are required to never make a misstatement.
That said, Casio-Cortez is exactly the kind of woman that the GOP fears the most. She is young, progressive, intelligent, outspoken, highly educated, and takes no shit, exactly the kind of politician that Democrats need in power. She has a bright future ahead of her. I just hope she does not get ahead of herself! She still has a lot to learn.
She is a breath of fresh air. Has no clue what branches of government are, supports open borders, free healthcare and college for all and no one has to pay for it. She is putting her economics degree to great use. Now if she only has time to visit all 57 states she can be the next president and we can all be saved.
I will say she is honest and idealistic. Once the money starts rolling in from special interest groups and lobbyists she will join the ranks of our corrupt elected elite. Is she really the future of the democrat party and our country, your grandchildren deserve better.
Jerry, just read skudrunner's snark. He trashes Casio-Cortez, but he's never, never, never, said a word about the avalanch of stupidity that comes out of Trump's mouth. She's, what? 24? and He's 71. He's lived a bit longer and should have learned something about the US government.
Like a lot of the Goopers, he assumes, because many Republicans cheat and are corrupt, that Casio-Cortez will go down that path in politics as well. More projection.

As usual, what skud says here bears little, if any, resemblance to the truth.
All politicians are confronted with the temptation to enrich themselves once in office. This temptation too often does result in the elected office holder becoming corrupted.
Men and women of sterling character are put to the test once in office, even some of them succumb to the temptation.
Only time will avail us the knowledge as to whether Casio-Cortez remain honest and uncorrupted. With the possible exception of tRumpers people will give her the benefit of the doubt.
The voters of Casio-Cortez's district elected her and the voters of that district will be the ones determining her political future in the near term.
Les, You make a very good point, time will tell. It would be nice to see a politician stand up for the average American and not just their party and themselves. Maybe she will be the one to call out waste in government much the same a Tom Coburn did but she will get the media attention because she is a liberal/socialist.

If I remember correctly he was not in congress long enough to acquire the wealth that he was entitled to. You are correct that BHO was squeaky clean on the overt corruption of our elected elite. He didn't make his millions until he was out of office as most presidents do because they are part of the lobbyist revenue stream.
My question to you is how can a person enter congress, support two households on a salary of $174K and end up few years later worth millions.

He grudgedly as to agree with you that “BHO was squeaky clean”, yet has to temper it with saying no “overt corruption” and by saying that nearly 4 years in the Senate (and he seems to forget 8 additional years as president) were not long enough to acquire the wealth that he was entitled to (the implication being acquired through illegal actions).

JC, I cannot remember a president being on the take and that includes BHO. As to his time as a senator he was in that office four years of which over two were campaigning for president.
RN, Supremely intelligent, based on what his college transcripts, maybe the books he had written about his greatness. BJC was supremely intelligent which is documented, BHO no proof.
Trump was given his start and through slimy business practices he attained a great deal of wealth. Because he earned that wealth as a private citizen he does not have to offer proof which is his right.
