I have not seen where anyone wants to ELIMINATE medicare and medicaid. Clean up and only pay those who are living and eligible but eliminate has not been mentioned.
I assume you realize that medicaid is the fastest growing entitlement and is a true entitlement. Medicare is pre-paid medical that you keep on paying for when you start receiving it.
I agree with Dave in that elections are mostly fair but there are always some fraud just not enough to make a difference. Trump will never say 2020 was fair because of his narcissistic nature.

They're propagandizing the narative precisely because they're going after both, that's why.
Ending Social Security has been a fevered dream of the GOP for decades Skud. If you've not seen it anywhere, you're not looking. At the very least, it is seen as a major pot of money that, in their words, must be used or tapped to give tax breaks to high income Americans.
As it relates to Medicare, that entitlement came about during the Johnson. A quick trip down the Wayback Machine will show you that many conservatives believe Medicare is illegal at its roots. And they want those roots pulled out.
And GOP politicians agree.
Just recently, Project 2025, which the Trump Admin, despite not knowing anything about, has been implementing it, calls for expanding consumer paid for Medicare Advantage over traditional Medicare.
So you see Skud... the GOP is, in fact, interested in changing, cutting benefits and charging more to consumers for Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid too.
