Disturbing facts on Maternal Mortality Rates in the U.S.

The U.S. continues to have the highest Maternal Mortality Rates (MMRs) out of every developed nation in the world.

Black women suffer the most as they are disproportionately affected. Moreover, the MMRs are increasing as a direct result of Trump’s overturning Roe.

Why?

Because 1 out of every 3 women now live in a state with an abortion ban.

Until we enshrine abortion & reproductive rights into federal law, we cannot begin to improve MMRs. That’s why we need leaders who care.

Black women have a risk of abortion-related death that is three times greater than that for white women. This is similar to the black:white risk ratio for all pregnancy outcomes of 3.2.9,14 The reason for this remains unclear; abortion surveillance data from 29 states (which exclude California, Florida, Illinois, and Mississippi) suggest that black women, compared with non-Hispanic white women, are only slightly less likely to obtain abortions in the first trimester—90% compared with 93%.

Whoever thought compassion was a core value in America, well, this data should confirm that as an erroneous assumption.

We are however showing definite signs of ignorance and selfishness. Certainly not core values, but definitely more prevelent in the USA than elsewhere.

And, research will connect republican policy, in particular MAGAverse republican policy, with the callous non compassionate ideology that results in unnecessary human suffering.

We are right across the river from Illinios so we're just a short drive from good health care for pregnant women. It's sad some women haave a much longer drive.
