Rules is rules and the rule of the DNC and the GOP are the same. The nominee of the party is officially named at the conventions. These are not constitutionally bound groups at all. They are organized under IRS laws, with bylaws they must follow.
And you can be sure they did.
As for the "disenfranchised" voters, up until the 1972 elections, all nominees were chosen in "smoke filled back rooms". Then in '72, the parties changed their rules to go with primaries.
A system that ultimately brought us to a couple of 80 year old fossils.

That is one of his more rational speeches. Imagine a president who created massive inflation by giving away money and restricting production now wanting to stem inflation and reduce prices by giving away money and going after the 1.6% profit margin of grocery stores. Of course after she threw the greatest president in history under the bus nothing is out of reach. We are in for a tough 4 1/2 years.
It’s the conglomerate food corporations that are inflating their prices and then enriching their executives who make almost 20x the salaries of grocery store managers. You must understand that.
