Donald "I Never Settle" Trump Settles His Racketeering and Fraud Lawsuit

Remember when Trump bragged about not settling the fraud lawsuit against Trump University? Remember when Trump bragged about how he never settles?

Well trump settled. But with no "admission of guilt."  So he settled with $25 million, plus other costs, just so he wouldn't have to testify in court for racketeering and fraud just before being inaugurated as POTUS.

Even though he "settled" that doesn't take away the stigma of Trump being the first president-elect in American history to have had to face a lawsuit for fraud and racketeering So he avoided that embarrassment and possible conviction. Not bad for a self-admitted sexual predator, eh?

So much for America to feel proud about: Our president-elect settled out of court in a fraud case!

The phony lawsuit against Trump U could have been easily settled by me but I want to go to court. 98% approval rating by students. Easy win

Then there’s this comment made that same month.
“I don’t settle cases,” he told MSNBC, later adding, “You know what happens? When you start settling lawsuits, everybody sues you.”

tRump settled because 1) he does not have to testify, 2) he can proclaim his innocence in the future, 3) it was the least costly avenue.

Having managed two businesses the strategy is always to negotiate and settle in a manner least costly to the business. Whenever there is the possibility that going to court may result in a loss, even if innocent, businesses may opt to settle and mitigate potential greater loss.

tRump is a businessman and he made a business decision. Having said this, and given all we know about The Liar in Cheif, he is as guilty as hell IMO.

OT, but last night VP Pence was booed at a performance of Hamilton. And as if on cue, in the middle of the night, we get President Elect Trump angrily tweeting about it.

What can we expect after he, himself. gets booed, called a liar and disrespected in Congress in the way President Obama was?

Just askin'...

We're in for it...

Dave, the people in the audience booed AND cheered Pence.

After the performance, the cast admonished the audience not to boo Pence, they then asked him for some assurance that the incoming administration will be for ALL Americans. The cast was polite and respectful. Watch it.

Because the man who will be president is driven by revenge and entitlement, he responded like any good little autocrat/dictator would, by misrepresenting what actually happened, and then he demanded that the cast of "Hamilton" APOLOGIZE!

Apologize for what? Exercising their 1st Amendment rights? Will the odious Mr. Trump now crack down on Americans' right to address their elected officials? It would seem so, since Trump has demonstrated time and again that he has no understanding of our country's Constitution nor of how our democratic republic works. IOW, he is sorely unfit to be POTUS, and he shows us this every day.

RN, the best part of this debacle is that Trump had to eat his words: "I never settle."

“We are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, defend us or uphold our inalienable rights.”

Mr Trump says that this is "harassment" and complains that cameras were "blazing." Apparently, he is unaware of what it means to be a public official.

Mr Pence, meanwhile, had no reply. He has, afaik, said nothing in response to calm that alarm.

The Hamilton cast were very respectful to Pence no one called him names, swore at him, threatened to kill him, told him he looks and moves like a Ken doll...they told the audience not to boo him, and thanked him for coming.

Trump's response was a typical bullying tactic. These men are a bunch of privileged, spoiled crybabies who can't stomach any bit of criticism. The actor said nothing even remotely rude to Pence.

To all the cry babies saying the cast of Hamilton hurt Pence's fee-fees. Here's the exact statement made by Brandon Victor Dixon:

“Vice President-elect Pence, we welcome you, and we truly thank you for joining us here at ‘Hamilton: An American Musical.’ We really do,” Dixon said to further applause.

“We, sir, we are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir. But we truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and work on behalf of all of us. All of us. Again, we truly thank you truly for (sharing) this show, this wonderful American story told by a diverse group of men and women of different colors, creeds and orientations.”

There isn't one damn thing rude or disrespectful in that statement. And the cry babies who keep pushing the lie that it is need to change their diapers so they'll feel better.
