THE FIRST RULE OF THE "FIGHT TRUMP CLUB" IS...

NEVER BELIEVE ANYTHING TRUMP SAYS!

Donald Trump’s video statement on abortion Monday — saying the legalities around the procedure should be up to the states — came after months of his publicly and privately discussing the possibility of a federal abortion ban.

Trump’s positions on abortion have been a roller coaster for decades. At one point in 2015, during his run for president, he took “five positions on abortion in three days,” according to The Washington Post and as NBC News detailed at the time.

Here are some of the highlights:

October 1999: 'I am very pro-choice'
February 2011: 'I am pro-life'
August 2015: Divided over defunding Planned Parenthood
February 2016: Says he'll defund Planned Parenthood — while also praising the group
March 2016: 'Some form of punishment' for women who seek abortions
October 2016: Trump vows to overturn Roe v. Wade
January 2017: Trump nominates Neil Gorsuch to Supreme Court
October 2017: House passes 20-week abortion ban with Trump's support
January-May 2018: Trump advocates for a 20-week national abortion ban
July 2018: Trump nominee Brett Kavanaugh assures skeptics Roe v. Wade is 'settled'

October 2020: Senate confirms Amy Coney Barrett June 2022: Trump said, 'God made the decision' to overturn Roe v. Wade

November 2022: Republican midterm losses
December 2022: McConnell blames Trump
January 2023: Trump blames abortion for the midterm losses
September 2023: Trump makes vague promises about an abortion compromise
February-March 2024: Trump flirts with a national abortion ban

(After reports surfaced that he told others he was considering a federal abortion ban at 16 weeks, his campaign dismissed them as “fake news.” Soon after, Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., told NBC News that “Trump is warming up to 16 weeks.” And then Trump himself in an interview suggested he’d support a 15-week ban.)

April 2: Trump avoids answering on Florida's six-week abortion ban
April 8: Trump says abortion should go back to the states

Trump doesn't give a flying donut about God, fetuses, girls and women, or abortion. He's transactional and will go with whatever will get people to vote for him.

Trump now says abortion should be left up to the states.  What did he mean by this, then?:

Donald Trump is facing new blowback from anti-abortion activists for refusing to commit to national abortion restrictions and for calling Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ signing of a six-week ban on the procedure a “terrible mistake.”

The monkey mind of el donaldo j. trump. Failed businessman, failed president, ultimately a failed human being.

No con man joe. It be you and MAGATS that do the projecting. Just accept the truth. It will finally set you free.

Joe Conservative,

There YOU go again, offering a comment that has nothing to do with the post.

Everything listed is exactly what Trump has said about abortion, and he's all over the place, even within a few days.

The Trumpublicans know that Dobbs is a losing issue for them. In every Red State that has had a referendum on the ballot on keeping abortion legal, it has OVERWHELMINGLY WON.

Arizona has stupidly dragged its citizens back to the 19th century on this, after their state representatives spoke in tongues during some sort of religious ceremony on the floor of their state house! That put me in mind of the Salem Witch Trials! Nuts!

There's no projecting on my part. I simply reported the fact that Arizona lawmakers did this and what Trump has said on the subject over the years and in the last few days of April 2024!

I've been consistent on the subject of abortion: It should be left to the girls and women, their doctors, and partners, if applicable, not JUDGES and POLITICIANS, who have nothing to say in a girl or woman's bodily autonomy.

Despite Bans, Number of Abortions in the United States Increased in 2023

Les Trump's position on abortion is like New England weather: If you don't like it, wait a minute!

Trump is trying to split the baby.

He wants credit within the GOP and the MAGAverse for ending Roe, but he's afraid of the blowback, so he punts to the states and stays mum on his personal views and future actions.

He loves, and so do conservatives, states rights. Because it allows federal elected officials to sit back as states enact unfair, non majority supported and in some cases, racist laws and say "Hey, my hands are clean, it's the will of the viters in those states."

Even some who comment here take a "If you don't like it, move to another state" approach when it comes to laws regarding abortion access and race.

But they are times when the Feds need to step in and give us a national standard.

The states rights crowd never had a problem with Jim Crow laws or laws that made interracial marriage illegal across the south. The rested on those arguments I cited above.

But thankfully, the feds stepped in, and said there are limits to states rights.

You're talking building codes and zoning laws? Sure, states rights win, as these are good example of decisions that are better made locally. But as it relates to how we live, race, health care and I'm sure more, we need a national standard.

And as we did on race, the great majority of the US citizenry is saying some level of abortion MUST be available across the land, in all states.

Why is this so hard to get done?

Why doesn't Joe Con/-FJ state his personal position on abortion?
Is it because he must conform to the ever-changing Trump nonsense?
This is what happens when cultists empower a narcissistic authoritarian criminal to DEFINE REALITY for them.

It is the abortion issue that could cause joey b to be reelected that and the full scale media attack on djt. Why the gop wanted a change in a law that has been in place for decades is a wonder. What they should have done is make this a racist issue because according to the national library of medicine "Black women have been experiencing induced abortions at a rate nearly 4 times that of White women for at least 3 decades, and likely much longer"

Repealing RvW was a stupid thing to do because it should be left up to the women to determine and she is the one who has to live with the decision.

No. My examples are of Trump contradicting himself on several different positions concerning the same subject, abortion.

So we should ignore everything he says on the subject because he changes by the minute, depending on how what he thinks will poll in his favor.

A month ago, he was promising his cultists that he'd place a federal ban on abortions, now he says he believes the states should decide how to punish girls and women who get abortions, but he has criticized Ron DeSantis's Florida 6-week abortion ban -- a ban that was decided BY THE STATE!

Trump has no position on abortion, except what he believes polls the best. Therefore, believe nothing he says on this subject.

skudrunner said... "It is the abortion issue that could cause joey b to be reelected that and the full scale media attack on djt."

"...full scale media attack on djt." You mean having the media report on what Trump says and does? How is that attacking him? Those who are enthralled with djt see those reports of what he says and does as attacks, when, in fact, they're factual accounts of his behavior. Y'know, like selling gold sneakers for $400, selling his autographed Bibles for $60, and selling pieces of the suit he wore to his arrests for $$$. Reporting what a scam/con artist pulls on his willing marks is not an attack, it's reporting the facts.

The magat guy here is projecting his trumpiness well. Make some lying accusation to avoid the issue. His co-magats will proclaim him a genius. He may get a maga hat in the mail along with a bill for it and request to buy a ticket to something or most likely a bill for a share of trump media stock.

Dave D... I think the statements from -FJ, that abortion is killing a baby, are as close as we're gonna get from -FJ.

He never states unequivocally where he stands on anything, lest he be held to account for that view. Remember, he exists to rumble, inflame and cause dissension, by his own description.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't our friend, skudrunner, claim that not all Republicans want a ban on abortions?

Here's one of Florida's two US Senators giving his opinion on that. (Remember Florida is a huge state with 29 electoral votes.)

"Fox News Kudlow: The Arizona Supreme Court upholds a near total abortion ban, do you have a thought on that?

GOP Sen. Scott: That's what's going to happen as a result of the overturning of Roe. I'm pro-life. This is exactly what ought to be happening.'

Senator Scott is main stream Trumpublican, not an outlier. He's fine with the Arizona 1864 law!

"NEVER BELIEVE ANYTHING TRUMP SAYS!"
This says it all.

Les Carpenter said...

It is exactly what should NOT happen, and every woman who respects themselves (and every man who RESPECTS woman) ought to vote democratic up and down the ticket in every state to insure abortion becomes the legislative law of the land across ALL 50 states.

This is a personal issue that should be decided by the woman, her physician, and her signifigant other or husband. With the final ultimate decision resting with the woman.

It is simple, if ya don't aprove of abortion under any circumstance don't ever get one. The government has absolutely no business making these kind of personal decisions for individuals.

Karma, (and or god if there is one) will take care of any wrong doing, if any. It ain't governments place. Period.

There is something to be said for a politician to change his mind when his voters tell them what they want.

But Trump doesn't change his mind, he just talks.

Fight Trump Club is too small and shrinking of a niche. You should join "Fight All Politicians Club". There motto is, "Never believe anything coming from a politicians Mouth, just believe what they do/ how they vote.'

JoMala "Truth 101" Kelly said...

I see my maga Jewish friend is channeling his inner George Mason who called politicians "babbler." Not that he has any clue who George Mason is. But I appreciate his political logic of decrying politicians so people that would vote against Trump won't vote at all. If you thought of this by yourself my congratulations.

Dave Dubya said...

Kremlin -FJ is hilarious with his pontification, "Never believe anything coming from a politicians Mouth, just believe what they do/ how they vote."

This is from a true believer Trumpist who BELIEVES every election LIE from Trump. He ignores Trump ordering his angry mob to the Capitol to "fight like hell", saying, "if you don’t fight like Hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore". These words were intended to incite his mob to disrupt Congress and overturn the election he LOST. His intent was confirmed by refusing to call them off for HOURS, hoping his thugs would succeed.

"Hypocrite" is a far too generous a term for his ilk. Words matter. Every propagandist like -FJ knows this.

Some Republicans are waking up to the fact that their party has become Putin's propaganda apparatus. No wonder Kremlin agent -FJ is feeling the pressure to play the "both sides" false equivalence fallacy.

Summi verba momenti sunt.

Dave Miller said...

Sure -FJ... and we have a visible record for this presidential election unlike any in the last 140 years. Because both men have been president.

So where should we stand?

Solid, competent leadership, low unemployment, a booming US economy, tax breaks through loan forgiveness to everyday folks, and the reality that the US is the biggest oil producer in the history of the planet?

Or...

Chaos, little respect for institutions, broken promises, mismanagement of the pandemic though shuttering of the pandemic response office and lying to the American people, low unemployment, middling economy, tax breaks for rich folks, and refusal to condemn Nazi marches and symbols?

Sure, they're both politicians. They're both old. They both lie. But...

If someone is a tear it all down and rise from the ashes believer, they lean Trump.

If someone is a we're in a mess but we can change it to make it better, they lean Biden.

Cynics and people living in fear for America, speaking about crime, go Trump.

People focusing on hope and normalcy go Biden, even as they marinate in Trump fear.

Dave Miller said...

Shaw... Monday Trump was a proponent of states rights, as it relates to abortion.

But then a state did something he didn't like and now it's not such a "beautiful thing" as he called it earlier in the week.

Now he calls on them to change their law? Why? Not because of principle, rather, because it will hurt his reelection chances.

What a chameleon. And this party had the gall to hammer John Kerry because he was "for it before he was against" it.

Looks like I'm done blogging. For the last two weeks I've been under assault. Another Blogger (I know who) is reporting me for "hate" and getting my blogs removed. I created a new one and 5 days later Google locked it. I just (today) created another new blog, but that one will likely be swiftly removed as well. I surely would not be surprised.

There appears to be no way to contact Google to state my case and explain to that what's going on. Including the fact that this person has been harassing me for years (he has a fake account with my display name and my avatar attached to it) and many fake blogs where he calls me fa**ot. But I guess that isn't hate.

I don't know if anyone else's blogs are in danger. I think this person specifically really hates me. Though he has (on Lisa's blog) brought up how he had my blogs removed and threatened other anti-tRump bloggers. Saying they should "behave" or their blogs might be taken down too.

Anyone have any suggestions regarding anything I can do about this?

Re the topic of the post, donald tRump is saving babies. This is something he did as "God's chosen leader". If you're a Democrat you need to REPENT. For wishing death upon "God's chosen leader" (donald tRump, who WILL return to power next year) and for being complicit in the murder of children.

I do realize its very difficult for MAGATS to grasp, but... politicians are, just like all of us. Human, with emotions, thoughts, beliefs, parental/spiritual/educational/societal etc conditioning.

Like most of the human race politicians proceed along the path they've accepted for themselves without ever questioning their beliefs once fully reified.

It is simply the truth Trumpublicans/republicans are unquestionably the most self centered, delusiinal, and dishonest.

So no -fj, both sides are NOT the same.. Trumpublicans/republicans are a special delusional breed of their own.

Yeah, the dude you're speaking about is not only a hate filled sack of human excrement he is also an imposter who regularly steals other blogger's names and avatars. A real POS.

My advice, which won't buy a cup of coffee, is to refrain, for a period of time anyway from referencing him or speaking truthfully about subjects that he regularly blogs about and lies about in his post.

His outsized ego, myriad delusions, and hateful character is his karma. It will ultimately circle around and bite the SOB in the arse.

DON'T ENGAGE WITH HIM.

Report what he's done to you to Blogger and see what happens.
