The Real Enemy of the American People

"The people are the only censors of their governors: and even their errors will tend to keep these to the true principles of their institution. To punish these errors too severely would be to suppress the only safeguard of the public liberty. The way to prevent these irregular interpositions of the people is to give them full information of their affairs thro’ the channel of the public papers, & to contrive that those papers should penetrate the whole mass of the people. The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter. But I should mean that every man should receive those papers & be capable of reading them." --Thomas Jefferson

Trump tweeted:

The media are the 'enemy of the American people'

His followers, without using what's left of their minds to think, dutifully agreed, like good little sheeple.

Donald Trump's America:

This is how Lord Dampnut inspires a nation of free men and women:

Kill the free press and destroy the 1st Amendment that millions of men and women died in countless wars to protect.

That's what you've got for a president, Nation, a pant-wetting coward who can't take criticism of him by the media as every other president has, going back to the founding of America.

Trump is not just a coward and weak little  pissy-pant cry-baby, but he is a danger to our American democracy.

No. The media are not the enemy of the American people.

Loud-mouthed, narcissistic demagogic presidents who know nothing about our democracy and how it works are the enemy of America and her people.

Trump admits he found the fake news story about Sweden on a really fakey fake cable news station, FAUX NOOZ:

Trump admits false ‘last night in Sweden’ claim was something he heard ‘broadcast on Fox News’

Shaw, Please don't insult the rear end of a horse by comparing it to trump. The horse's ass is better looking than Trump, smells better than Trump, and expels better stuff than Trump's mouth.

It would probably make a better president also.

I for one do not want to be part of a country where Donald Trump sets the moral standards to succeed

Shaw Kenawe said...

Jerry, I never thought of how insulting it would be to an equine's posterior. I'll try to be more thought when assigning an animal to describe Lord Dampnut.

Kerryanne, we can't abandon America, no matter how awful her POTUS is. Our job is to RESIST!

We need everyone's help. His approval number is 38 -- he's made presidential history -- the most disliked new president in the nation's history. Maybe if that number hits 30, his party will abandon HIM. All that needs to happen to lower that number even further is for Lord Dampnut to give us another manic presser. The last one opened a lot of Americans' eyes to how nuts the POTUS is.

Dear Reince Priebus (if that is your real name,)

The courts did not "step in" to the immigration ban. That's not how it works. Unfortunately, judges don't get to just pick an order they don't like and "step in" to block it.
What happens is, either private citizens or their elected officials (in this case the governor and attorney general of Washington State) have to file a suit and your side gets to defend the rational and legality of order. All the judge does is, well, judge.

You lost. Get over it.

Etc etc etc

Former Swedish PM: More murders in Florida where Trump spoke than in Sweden last year

LOL! Facts are stubborn things. Don't expect Lord Dampnut to understand that.

Deranged and Proud,

First of all, stop shouting.

Trump called the news media "the enemy of the American people." Try as your little brain might, you won't find anything as undemocratic and unAmerican coming from any other American president, including President Obama. Ever.

Obviously, you can't tell the difference between a president chiding a cable news station and one who claims the entire news media are 'the enemy of the American people." That's too bad, because that means your head is so far up your arse that you're probably drunk on the fumes from the Listerine you gargled this morning.

IOW, your point is invalid.

Happy Presidents Day, Shaw. I sure miss Mr. Obama, his dignity and smarts.

As opposed to the swine now occupying the People's House. What a disgrace.

The real issue between Trump and the press, is Trump's willingness to gut the First Amendment so that his monumental, but fragile, ego won't get spanked. This from a guy who ran like a rabbit when he had his chance to serve in the military. This should horrify every American who cares about their country.

Obama was yanking your chain .You're just too blind to see it.
He was just suttle about it

Shaw Kenawe said...

Anonymous: "He was just suttle about it."

The only person I know who so "creatively" spells that word is Lisa from WYD. That was quite a while ago, and she still hasn't bothered to learn how to spell it. Also, if a person did any amount of reading, he/she would have come across that word and learned that it is not spelled "suttle."

Anon, your point is invalid.

And there's nothing SUBTLE about my answer.

Good Morning,

Remember when the wingnuts howled about President Obama and his golfing? Yeah. They were pooping green bricks over it.

What about trump? Any noise coming from the howlers on his one month presidency and the amount of time he's spent golfing?

Nah. Because he's a Republican preznit, and when he does it, the howling jackals are good little sheeple and say nothing:

Being president is hard work, especially when you choose to go golfing six times in a month:

President Donald Trump has made visiting his Florida golf courses a near every-weekend habit in the first month of his administration, and his aides are trying to obscure whether Trump is actually golfing during the visits. [...] "I'm going to be working for you, I'm not going to have time to go play golf," Trump said at the time. Trump has visited his two golf courses near his Mar-a-Lago estate -- Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach and Trump National Golf Course in Jupiter -- six times in his first month in office."

Not a peep from the Goopers.

From friend Mike N.

The “so-called” president Trump was repeatedly critical of Obama playing golf. “Can you believe that, with all of the problems and difficulties facing the U.S., President Obama spent the day playing golf.” “Worse than Carter.” “We pay for Obama’s travel so he can fundraise millions so Democrats can run on lies,” “Then we pay for his golf.” Trump keeps complaining that “he inherited a mess”, yet, he spends more time at Mar A Lago playing golf than working from the White House. Then again, Trump is the Liar-in-Chief."

Things aren't completely quiet in the rethug camp.

Joni Ernst and Marsha Blackburn were both booed at their local town hall events.
The crowds really get worked up when they don't get straight answers about a replacement for the ACA.
