TRUMP'S CONTRADICTORY POSITIONS ON SYRIA

"Trump has exposed himself to the world as an imbecile and burned through American credibility with his incessant lying."  - Charles Blow, NYTimes

Here are all the times Trump told President Obama NOT to attack Syria.

Donald Trump tweets about Syria

  1. Why is Senator John McCain in Syria visiting with the rebels- MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

  2. "@Tommyguns11@realDonaldTrump Obama arming Syrian rebels is a travesty and an embarassment to the US! What would YOU do?" Stay out!

  3. We should stay the hell out of Syria, the "rebels" are just as bad as the current regime. WHAT WILL WE GET FOR OUR LIVES AND $ BILLIONS?ZERO

  4. Remember, all these ‘freedom fighters’ in Syria want to fly planes into our buildings.

  5. That said, the rich Arab countries should get involved with the Syrian mess, not us.We should start rebuilding our own country & military.

  6. @walaa_3ssaf No, dopey, I would not go into Syria, but if I did it would be by surprise and not blurted all over the media like fools.

  7. Let the Arab League take care of Syria. Why are these rich Arab countries not paying us for the tremendous cost of such an attack?

  8. If Obama attacks Syria and innocent civilians are hurt and killed, he and the U.S. will look very bad!

  9. How bad has our "leader" made us look on Syria. Stay out of Syria, we don't have the leadership to win wars or even strategize.

  10. "@jenconservative@RKDrake @realDonaldTrump I would be totally surprised if the US even HAS any money to spend on Syria!!" We don't!

  11. "@Joe1sPro: @realDonaldTrump the president of Syria is killing people inhumanly" But the so called "rebels" may be just as bad (or worse)!

  12. "@mguarino64@realDonaldTrump " How would you treat the Syria situation if president ?" I'd let them all fight with each other-focus on US!

  13. The Arab League stated that it wants nothing to do with an attack on Syria, but they want us to attack. Are our leaders insane or just stupid

  14. "@BigSexyBDAvis@realDonaldTrump mr trump would attack Syria or no?" No, lets make our country great again as they fight their war!

  15. For all of those fools that want to attack Syria, the U.S.has lost the vital element of surprise-so stupid-could be a disaster!

  16. Many Syrian ‘rebels’ are radical Jihadis. Not our friends & supporting them doesn't serve our national interest. Stay out of Syria!

  17. .@GOP must stay focused on defunding ObamaCare and the impending budget battle. Don’t let Syria rule the agenda.

  18. The only reason President Obama wants to attack Syria is to save face over his very dumb RED LINE statement. Do NOT attack Syria, fix U.S.A.

  19. AGAIN, TO OUR VERY FOOLISH LEADER, DO NOT ATTACK SYRIA - IF YOU DO MANY VERY BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN & FROM THAT FIGHT THE U.S. GETS NOTHING!

  20. Russia is sending a fleet of ships to the Mediterranean. Obama’s war in Syria has the potential to widen into a worldwide conflict.

  21. We should not attack Syria but if they make the stupid move to do so, the Arab League, whose members are laughing at us, should pay!

  22. Many of the Syrian rebels are radical jihadi Islamists who are murdering Christians. Why would we ever fight with them?

Charles Blow:

What worries me most is that he seems to have no coherent plan, at least not one that he is willing or able to communicate. “I don’t show my hand” isn’t a strategy to conceal a plan as much as one to conceal the absence of a plan.

'His statements are all bluster and bungling and bosh. Our commander in chief is not in full command of his emotions or facts or geopolitics.

'We may sometimes think that the absurdity of Trump’s endless stream of contradictions and lies ends at the nation’s borders, but it doesn’t..

'The Syrian and North Korean problems are complex and can’t be solved by a simpleton. Every action produces a reaction. Every lever you pull risks a life — or many.

This is not about Trump’s ego, even though I’m sure he believes that it is. It is about whether this draft dodger’s ignorance and insecurities could haphazardly plunge our country — and indeed the world — into an armed conflict. The King of Chaos isn’t suited for the steady navigation of crisis.'

Trump's daily plan is determined by how well is bowels are functioning when he gets up in the morning.

I agree Anonymous @9:56 AM, Trump IS AN IDIOT!

Jerry, Apparently Lord Dampnut has a blockage all the way up to his cerebral cortex.

The fact t6hat he would hold a different position now than 4 years ago is not the hypocritical gold mine you think it is.
What would you suggest doing to the Syrian dictator?

And now we're bombing Syria... and guess who's at his resort and golf club?

Yep. Pres Trump...

You can bet tomorrow the idiots on the right who we're so critical of Pres Obama will quickly condemn Pres Trump for being at his golf club.

As they surely would've done with a Dem Pres.

4 years ago Trump published several tweets urging President Obama not to do anything about Assad's chemical weapon attack on his own people. Assad attacked his own people just now with chemical weapons and Trump blamed President for not doing anything about it 4 years ago. What is it about that do you not understand? Or are you just an idiot? Most people with even half a brain get it.

It was the reports of barrel bombs in 2012 that convinced me that Assad was a brutal murderer. There have been further reports of incendiary bombs dropped by both the Assad regime and the Russians.

Trump. You're a little bit late to the party to join the human race.

Why do you suppose the entire population of Aleppo had to flee their homeland?

Having a clown like Trump as president is such a cruel joke on so many levels.

By this, can we take away that at the very least, the intelligence community has successfully cut off communication between Putin and Trump? I mean if the president wants to call Moscow, he has to pick up the red phone, right?

As horrific a person as Assad is Trump's decision was not the right one at this time. There was no act of aggression against the US.

Trump shot from the hip, an emotional response to recent events, without any real strategy in place.

Trump is perhaps engaging in another distraction action?

And we watch...

Footnote: The only justification for the use of force by one nation is in response to an act of aggression by another nation (aggressor nation) against them...

His statement after the bombing was filled with compassion for the Syrian people.

It almost sounded like he was willing to accept refugees rather than just bombing the place up some more.

Dave Miller said...

Somehow you missed this one tweet from August 2013...

From of course, the Donald...

"What will we get for bombing Syria besides more debt and a possible long term conflict? Obama needs Congressional approval."

Was he wrong, or lying then? How about now?

Jerry Critter said...

He was simply reading what someone else wrote for him. Trump and compassion is an oxymoron.
