Found on a Trumper blog:

"It’s Day 521 of the coup, the theft of the American Government, by enemies both foreign and domestic.

Our federal government has been stolen by the illegal actions by leftist politicians."

Yes Shaw... he opens all his postings or internet "radio" shows with that line.

Look, here's what those folks are talking about...

In their view, the laws that state governments changed, in many cases unilaterally, to make voting safer during the pandemic, were themselves in violation of their state constitutions.

Thus, in their view, expanded voting through mail in votes, same day registration, drop boxes, again, all in service of keeping Americans safe during a pandemic, led to millions of illegal ballots.

No fraud per se, but illegal votes nonetheless.

I've had numerous conversations with conservatives on this issue and at the end of the day, it comes down to this question...

Should we not have made it "easier and safer" for voters, in light of the pandemic? And to a person, they all answer NO! Democracy has a cost and people need to stand up for and if necessary, risk their lives to vote. The pandemic, in their view, was no reason for governors and state legislators to use executive power and other means to change the rules that had ruled elections before.

The fact that the SCOTUS threw out the challenges of the emergency powers of the state, does not seem to matter.

Because for conservatives, when progressives exercise emergency powers, it's bad and illegal, but when they themselves do it, it's for the good of the country.

Everything, LITERALLY everything is impermanent.

During crisis it is also often necessary to effect changes that otherwise would probably would not have even been considered. What governors did was the right thing to insure the greatest number of voices would be heard. The EXACT opposite of what the minority party (GOP) wants.

Republicans, conservatives, and religionists ALL put their stock in reified concretes. Possibly one of America's biggest problem. Alongside greed and ignorance.

6-28-22:

Just want to say how much admiration I have for the tremendous bravery Cassidy Hutchinson is displaying. Even in the face of harassment and threats, she is choosing to put her country first and tell the truth. This is what real courage, integrity, and patriotism looks like.

Cassidy Hutchinson is showing remarkable courage for speaking up about the efforts to overturn a legitimate election & the peaceful transfer of power. What she’s been thru (and will continue to experience) no one should go thru. This is fortitude.

Anyone downplaying Cassidy Hutchinson’s role or her access in the West Wing either doesn’t understand how the Trump WH worked or is attempting to discredit her because they’re scared of how damning this testimony is.

For those complaining of “hearsay,” I imagine the Jan. 6 committee would welcome any of those involved to deny these allegations under oath.

1-6-22:

One year ago, we as a country experienced one of the darkest days in American history. Today, may we honor the lives lost as a result of January 6th, and may we reflect on the heroic actions of those who bravely protected the U.S. Capitol from a violent mob with the intent of overturning the will of the American people & stopping Congress from doing its job. Make no mistake, the events on the 6th were a coup attempt, a term we'd use had they happened in any other country, and former President Trump failed to meet the moment.

While it might be easier to ignore or whitewash the events of that day for political expediency — if we’re going to be morally consistent — we need to acknowledge these hard truths.

One year ago, thanks to the courageous acts of many, democracy prevailed and Congress returned that night to ensure the peaceful transition of power. Let this day serve as a reminder of how fragile democracy truly is & the importance to protect, preserve, and cherish it.

Donald Trump is out of what's left of his mind.

Trump goes full authoritarian, says he regrets not taking over Democrat ran cities and pledged next time to take them over.
