IT WASN'T A RED TSUNAMI...

 more like a red trickle.

BREAKING:

Dash Dobrofsky

@DashDobrofsky

Fox News just put out an article that said "Ron DeSantis is the new Republican Party leader."

The establishment right-wing media has officially decided to push Trump aside, just days before he is set to announce his candidacy from Mar-a-Lago.

The Republican Party is divided.

The Trumpublicans did NOT give the Democrats a "thumping," as is usual in mid-term elections.

It appears Donnie's hateful hold on the GQP is waning.

Fetterman won!  😍

Ryan lost. 😡

At this time, the Warnock/Walker race is too close to call, and Georgia may have to hold a run-off if neither gets 51% of the vote.

Lauren Boebert lost her seat. YAY! One less loud-mouthed know-nothing but "owning the libs" is gone! YAY!

Hochul kept the NY governorship! YAY!

New Hampshire's Maggie Hassan beat the far-right election denier, Bolduc, by almost 10 points! YAY!

Massachusetts has its first ELECTED female governor (who is also openly gay!) YAY! Good going for Maura Healy!! And Andrea Campbell, is our first black female attorney general! YAY!

Kentucky voters reject antiabortion measure as abortion rights advocates score big wins

Conservative Jennifer Rubin:

"To put this in context, the average Senate loss for the party in the White House is four seats. The magnitude of Democrats’ success — and Republicans’ disaster — should sober the hyperbolic press, which was ready to perform last rites on the Biden presidency and the Democrats more generally.

It does not take a political science degree to understand why Democrats outperformed historic results: Abortion matters. Senate candidates matter."

"In THE blue state of Colorado, loudmouth Lauren Boebert got beat in what used to be a safe GOP seat. I liked her at first, but she spent all her time with MTG and other idiots in the nutball wing, shooting off her mouth, showing her ass, and “owning the libs.”

Who’s owned now, Lauren?"

I read this today:

"88% of evangelical Christians voted for Herschel Walker, not Warnock, the candidate who has devoted his adult life to Jesus Christ. Let that sink in."

Whodathunk 88% of evangelical Christians are uneducated ignorant hypocrites?

They're OK with criminals, narcissists and liars. They love Trump even after he praised his thugs for terrorizing congress and beating cops.

These Trump-sucking theocrats don't give a damn about compassion, character and decency. Power and mammon are their real gods.

They are fake Christians and a mockery and insult to their Savior. "I never knew you" was all about their ilk.

I'll take real Christians with compassion and a conscience any day over these vile, narrow-minded, hate-filled fanatics.

The country would be far better off with atheists and Buddhists in the majority.

Well, the Trumpies over on the Mother Ship have it all figured out about why there was no Red Tsunami:

AOW is right… “Two words: our education system. It creates Democrats.” And that won’t be taken to task as it possibly might have been had we had more wins.

Our American educational system, according to these Trump cultists creates Democrats! How in hell did any Republicans get elected then? They don't think things thru do they? That's why they're Trump cultists. Not very smart!

Who gives a crap?

Dave Dubya said...

According to the Palmer Report Herschel Walker only got 8% of the Black vote.

Black Christians have the character, decency and compassion that is obviously absent in white evangelicals.

Dave Miller said...

Shaw... 88% of White Evangelicals.

Before everyone gets too giddy, the Dems saw Plorida move from purple to solid red. And Nevada moved from Blue to at least purple. If we assume AZ is now purple, take a spin over to 270 to win and do your map for 2024.

Without Wisconsin, how do the Dems win, defending 25 Senate seats, without FL, AZ, NV, and WI?

I just don't see it.

But... I am happy today that America, at least at some level, said no to the kooks, or as the confused say, the great candidates like Masters in AZ. The candidates who stand for nothing apart from vote for us and hope for the best. Because we're Republicans.

Apparently you do, and it bothers you. Otherwise, why bother coming here?

Shaw Kenawe said...

Ray,

How would "that have been taken to task as it possibly might have been had we had more wins?"

Do these freedom-loving Trump cultists believe a test should be given to anyone seeking a teaching position in public grammar, h.s., and colleges and universities that would weed out anyone who has ever voted Democratic or hold Democratic Party affiliation?

Those people are cryptic authoritarians who want to rid this country of anyone who is not a Christian nationalist and Republican! They don't see it that way, they just expose themselves when they state their opinions.

As you said: "Not very smart."

Shaw Kenawe said...

Dave D.,

That is correct. The Trumpublican Party sought to split the Black vote by putting up a damaged man against Pastor Warnock, but they were wrong about that. Only the white evangelicals fell for it and voted for a man who is everything they dislike in a person, and especially a Christian! Party over everything for those folks, even decency and Christian beliefs.

Can someone explain why people have voted for this IDIOTIC person?

Dave Miller said...

Warnock will win in the run off when Kemp is not on the ballot and the third party candidate is gone too. And in the end, the Senate will be a 50/50 split again.

So Pres Biden, get your list of judges ready, cause that's what we need from you moving forward.

Joshua Zeitz

I understand his numbers are not currently great. But based on what he’s gotten done with a 50/50 Senate and narrow House majority, the mess he mopped up after Trump, his leadership on Ukraine, and tonight, I can tell you as an historian: Biden goes down a winner in the books.

We're all trying to figure out how Herschel Walker got ANY votes as well.

I can see it coming, 2024, tRUMP/Walker. God help us.

The Democrats should be relatively happy this morning and I know I am. Historically everything, and I mean EVERYTHING was against them: they are the party in power, which is never good in midterms; inflation is hurting Americans; gas prices are high; we are in the midst of a war against Russia (and yes, we are, despite not having boots on the ground); our people are being subjected to lies and misinformation by everyone from Putin to Musk (who frankly should be arrested just for how ugly he is); and the president is unpopular (though frankly not with me).

And the GOP did not fare well for the most part at the state level. Yes they control the house - but not enough to do much other than cosplay and make a lot of noise. They might even win the Senate, but again, won't be able to do much. Call me overly optimistic (by temperament as a Scandinahoovian I'm decidedly NOT), but the election is for the most part pretty decent news for the Dems.

And who knows? Maybe Trump and DeSantis will tear the GOP apart. I know Trump - not personally, but his type. He will kill the GOP before he shares it with anyone. Here's hoping that we might be there.

A thought that warms hearts!

Not a surprise considering almost 70% of Americans think abortion should be legal.

Has anyone explained to Herschel Walker that “run-off” doesn’t mean what he did to his kids?

Anonymous said...

It wasn't exactly a blue wave either.

Les Carpenter said...

No, but the longer the great orange turd keeps yapping with his lying conspiracies the MORE LIKELY a blue wave will drown the dimwits of trumpism. And it will be a superbly satisfying moment when it happens aninymous.
