AIN'T NO LIE

Joe Biden had the best midterms for a Democrat president in 24 years.

This is Trump speaking before the mid-terms about the candidates he backed:

“I think if they win, I should get all the credit, and if they lose, I should not be blamed at all."

If trump has a single core value at all, the above is it.

skud and other Republicans/Libertarians should remember forever that Trump is right now the leader of the Republican Party -- shaky as that is now, but Trump was the Republican's hero for years and years and still has a hold on the base.

That quote is what Trump is, and the Republican Party should have it branded onto every GOPer's forehead for years to come. It is who they worshipped and adored and made POTUS.

Here's what the Republicans are saying privately, (via the WaPo):

“Absolutely, there's no question” that Trump should be blamed for Republicans’ losses in Pennsylvania and close races across the country, said one senior Republican strategist who worked on Senate races and who, like others, spoke on the condition of anonymity to share private discussions happening within the GOP.

It appears that the Republican Party is finally waking up to what normal Americans already knew about Trump: He cares only for himself and his self-glorification. And as Lindsey Graham prophetically stated before he decided to kiss Trump's arse:

"If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed.......and we will deserve it."

The Republican Party so richly deserves what happened to it on Tuesday. Or put another way:

"Lie down with dogs; wake up with fleas."

Add this stat to your list of political news...

8 unidentified GOP donors, individuals, gave over 70 million each to the GOP election effort.

let that sink in... a total of 560 million dollars flowed into the GOP campaign from just 8 donors.

Imagine if $2500.00 was a hard limit ANYONE could give to a political campaign. How might that change the elections?

Here's what Marc Thiessen, conservative writer from the WAPO had to say about Trump and Trumpism...

“That [the election] is a searing indictment of the Republican Party,” he said. “That is a searing indictment of the message that we have been sending to the voters. They’ve looked at all of that, and looked at Republican alternative and said no thanks."

Too bad ppl like Thiessen and others who posted this reality had not stepped forward in the middle of the Trump Admin and blasted messages such as this publicly, from the roof tops, from the mountain tops and everywhere in between.

Their willingness to quietly look the other way even as they knew Trump was destroying the GOP, trust in government and by extension, large swaths of America, has been horrible for our country.

Each and every one of them who now publicly professes that Trump was a jerk, hurt America, hurt the GOP, and there are legions of these rats abandoning ship, should be ashamed. They had a chance to stand up for America and they remained quiet. For power, status, money and influence.

And that includes bloggers afraid of the GOP losing because of public criticism, ppl like John Bolten and Maggie Haberman, who kept problems quiet to sell books and generals like McMaster and Kelly who should have stood for America, rather than remaining silent out of some weird belief they could contain the beast.

Blame tRump or no the fact is the republican party now belongs to tRump and regardless the party's current posturing privately they supported the most useless, dishonest, greedy, and ignorant man in the country at the present moment. They supported him completely the moment he won the nomination in 2016. For six goddamn years, including during and after his attempted coup and insurrection.

tRump is evil incarnate and the damn party who supported him is no better. IMNHO.

The Biden Administration is launching a federal investigation into a Missouri hospital that denied an abortion to a woman even though multiple doctors determined that her life was in danger because the pregnancy was nonviable & could lead to a deadly infection.

Pro-fetus is NOT pro-life. This is the anti-woman cruelty the radical Right theocrats embrace.

More democracy means more freedom.

Women of Michigan, Kentucky, Montana, California, Vermont, and Kansas can cite the pro-fetus Supreme Court for the need to draft ballot initiatives that protect freedom of choice.

It's called blowback.

And a BLUE WAVE in Michigan! No Trump cronies pushing his Big Lie won a state-wide office.

This is why the radical Right HATES democracy and loves minority rule.

In August Kansas women and the men who support them voted to protect their reproductive freedom.

“This fall, Roe is on the ballot,” President Joe Biden declared in a defiant speech from the White House just hours after the Supreme Court’s ruling earlier this year.

Voters in Montana rejected proposed legislation that would have imposed criminal penalties on health care providers who do not act to preserve the life of infants born during the course of an abortion,

Kentucky voters rejected a proposal to amend the state’s constitution to say that it does not “secure or protect a right” to abortion or the funding of abortion. The ballot question voters faced read: “Are you in favor of amending the Constitution of Kentucky by creating a new Section of the Constitution to be numbered Section 26A to state as follows: To protect human life, nothing in this Constitution shall be construed to secure or protect a right to abortion or require the funding of abortion?”

Michigan voters on Tuesday voted to enshrine abortion rights in the state’s constitution, a move that will help block a decades-old abortion ban from taking effect. The passage of ballot Proposal 3 amends the Michigan constitution to establish an “individual right to reproductive freedom, including right to make and carry out all decisions about pregnancy.”

The California Constitution will protect the right to an abortion after residents on Tuesday passed a ballot initiative to enshrine the right in the state’s governing document.

The Vermont Constitution will now be amended to read: “That an individual’s right to personal reproductive autonomy is central to the liberty and dignity to determine one’s own life course and shall not be denied or infringed unless justified by a compelling State interest achieved by the least restrictive means.”

Dave D. It's plain to me and millions of other Americans that the SCOTUS has been captured by religionists who are trying to impose a Catholic doctrine on the entire country. Americans are rebelling against it.

Many religions do NOT prohibit a woman's right to make reproductive decisions. Only far right Catholics and other fundamentalist religions prohibit any form of reproductive rights for girls and women.

Dave M. and Les,

Those Republicans who stayed loyal to Trump through all his destructive neurotic behavior and disregard for our democratic norms are now regretting it?

Excuse me if I and millions of other Americans tell them to "cry me a river." Their tribalism over country is to blame -- they put party over country and what Lindsey Graham came true:

"If we nominate Trump, he will destroy the Republican Party, and we will deserve it." Graham knew the truth then, but ignored what was in front of his nose. I have no sympathy for him or anyone else who jumped on the Trumpmobile for political power.

Look at Trump now. His so-called loyalists are deserting him and his awful brand of smash and burn Trumpism. Except, of course, those sailors on the Mother Ship. They're still loyal to the loser and think he was great for America, and anyone who speaks out against Trump is a "jerk."

They share the blame for the wreckage to the Republican Party.

And here is Trump being what he is:

RollingStone: "Trump Spreads Rumors, Threatens Allies in All-Out Attack on DeSantis
After an election night where Ron romped but Don dragged, the former president is doing his best to ratf--k a potential 2024 rival"

Dave Miller said...

And today, Trump, without evidence, in the middle of a totally transparent process here in Nevada claimed if Adam Laxalt loses, it will be because of fraud. Even as Laxalt campaign members are involved in every step of the voting and counting process.

His point seems to be that any votes counted after election night are fraudulent. Yet he's not making the argument in Arizona where the GOP candidates need those votes being counted after election night to get their candidates over the line.

It all points out that he believes, like many sailors on the HMS MotherShip of Denial that the election is only free of fraud if GOP candidates win.

You can Blame Mitch McConnell for GOP Senate Losses, And you can Blame McCarthy For The Failure To Have An Overwhelming Majority In The House &
You can Blame Donald Trump for having Biden in the White House

They can still shoot themselves in the foot. Losing the House might be due to the negligence of the NY Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chair.

Democrats May Lose U.S. House Because New York Dem. Leaders Were Too Focused on Defeating the Left

AMY GOODMAN: Many analysts say if Democrats lose control of the House, it may largely be because of New York state, where Republicans have flipped four congressional seats.
Democratic Congressmember Sean Patrick Maloney suffered one of the most shocking losses Tuesday. He’s the chair of the powerful Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. According to the Cook Political Report, Maloney is the first sitting House campaign committee chair to lose a race in 30 years...On Wednesday, New York Congressmember Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called for the resignation of Jay Jacobs. He’s the chair of the New York State Democratic Committee.

Zohran Mamdani is a New York state assemblymember:

“Last November, we had a ballot measure which, if passed, would have ensured that we could have had a more favorable map for Democratic congressional races going into this election. And that ballot measure was opposed by the state Republican Party to the tune of $3 million and an entire statewide tour. Yet, meanwhile, the Democratic Party, headed by Jay Jacobs, spent zero dollars on supporting that ballot measure. And as is no surprise to any of us because of the disparity in spending and effort, that ballot measure lost. And the loss of that ballot measure was then used as a pretext in the court cases that occurred afterwards to ensure that we had state-drawn maps, maps which were then far more favorable to Republicans, and maps which may be part of the reason why we do not hold the House.”

I thought Boebert was getting stomped. But last I saw she was ahead by 700 votes with more counting to go.

What this shows is the republicans are horrible at selecting candidates like OZ and the democrats will vote for anyone as long as it is a democrat, Fetterman. The republicans had an opportunity to overwhelm the house and senate but they just can't get out of their own way. Biden did have one of the best midterms in recent times and his having a majority in either house will just lead to more suffering for the American people. We have to deal with the consequences of having an incompetent administration that is only interested in their agenda and Americans be damned. Going to be a long two years if you are a middle class taxpayer.

Republicans, the now badly tainted Trumpublican herd, did not, nor they ever "overwhelm" the house or senate. Why? Because there yet remains enough thinking folks to prevent that from happening.

That, and aside from winning and lying they have no vision and no plan. Other than to take care of the very wealthy and coporations they offer nothing, other than their constant othering those that don't think, look, and act like them.

As this culture continues its evolutionary journey odds are it will become more liberal and freer. Not less in either case. Unless of course the authoritarian Trumpublican/republican party finds a way to forcefully realize its desires to take full and complete control of every aspect of everyones lives.

Trust Not Any Trumpublican politician and be very wary of non trumpublican cons.
