Thank you Jesus!!! Kari Lake was one of the biggest election denier nut jobs in the country. Dodged a bullet on that one.

It does blow the theme that the majority of republicans support trump doesn't it. Unfortunately his ego and narcissistic personalty will not allow him to sit back and observe he will have to attack. When he loses the nomination he will certainly find a way to inflict pain on the GOP regardless what it does to the citizens. Hopefully the democrats will find a competent candidate to run against whoever is the republican nominee but so far it is slim pickings.

And the last of the major 2020 election deniers loses. America stood tall rejecting many of the people, who without proof, claimed fraud.

There is a problem however brewing... that crowd has switched their methods and vocab. After getting crushed in the Maryland election for governor, Dan Cox, a GOP election denier "conceded" with this language as he called Governor elect Wes Moore to...

"...recognize him on his being declared the winner.”

Now it's not a call to congratulate the "winner" but rather the person who has been "declared" the winner.

It's as bad as Stacey Abrams "suspending her campaign" rather than concede defeat to Kemp in GA. Unless and until election losers, from both parties step up and leave the too cute language behind, we will continue to have probs here in America.

Unless, and until, this country identifies and then corrects the deep and destructive underlying causes of the nation's divisions and fears this issue, as well as other problems, will only deepen and worsen. It has been said that ignorance and greed are the world's two biggest problems. Think corporate America and one begins to see the problems much more clearly. We can be assured the powers of monied interests will continue to work diligently to divide America along socio-economic lines with the top 1 or 2 percent continuing to control society at the expense of everyone else. And the republican & democratic parties party are their useful idiots.

And we like to believe we're free?

Unfortunately Lake is not finished as she declared earlier she would not go quietly into the night following in -H- footsteps. Many thought the support for trump was greater than it is/was and that caused horrible candidates to run and she happens to be be one of them. I don't know if she will ever concede much the same as abrams.

Leslie, blaming corporations for the ills of our election process is a simple target. Blaming the political system as an entirety is more correct. Money comes into a campaign from all states and all sources for one reason, so one party will get control of our lives. It's easy to blame a particular party but both of them only want one thing, to control the people control and not for the benefit of the people. They are not idea-logs they are just crooks hiding behind a party.

Wow. Josh Hawley just now: “This election was the funeral for the Republican Party as we know it. The Republican Party is, as we have known it, is dead. Voters have made that clear—we are not a majority party.”

Ms. Shaw, If you believe that -H- will go down a serving her country then I won't present any arguments to your facts. Her inaction resulted in the deaths of four American's in a forign land. Her right wing conspiracy resulted in her husbands embarrassing acts and her three years on the road preaching she won takes exception to her going quietly into the night.

The number of people who died as a result of Jan 6th is about as verifiable as the number of people who died from falsi-19. AOC says 10, NYT says 4, USA Today says 5 so how many was it. WPO one was shot, two died of natural causes and one drug overdose. Granted it shouldn't have happened but do you really know the numbers or is it hate trump syndrome. He will go down as the most hated president ever and she will go down as losing to him.

Unlike some I think before I vote and vote a split ticket, takes longer but that way I select the best person. I do agree with Leslie in that the republicans and democrats are idiots, fortunatly I am neither.

oh skuddy, you're so cute. In no way was I directly or indirectly calling out corporations for the few relatively insignificant election system issues. They are, practically non existance and in a purely practical view they had no affect on the outcome of elections.

I do blame corporations for the escalating greed in America that is suffocating the poor and middle class. I also believe corporate intetests should have absolutely no avenue to contribute to, or interact with, political candidates in any way shape or form. Period. Get corporate money and influence out of politics/government for good.

Guess you've got some catching up to do. Ya see skuddy, there are much deeper, and far more serious systemic problems that must be corrected first or the crap we wish would go away never will. We simply have to stop feeding the interests that manipulate everything in benifit the interests of corporations and the mega wealthy. Both are supported heavily by the republican party. And under tRump it only grew worse. Time to change that FOR GOOD.

Shaw commented... "Donald Trump NEVER conceded the 2020 election. Ever! Instead he incited his cultists to attack the US Capitol, which resulted in the deaths and maiming of civilians and LEOs." No he did not. He never acknowledged Biden's win was fair and square.

Nor did Dan Cox of Maryland after losing bigly in the race for governor. He said this... I “recognize him [Wes Moore] on his being declared the winner.” Not winning the election, but being declared, never acknowledging the will of the ppl and the fairness of the election.

And neither did Stacey Abrams as she said she was "suspending her campaign", never acknowledging that she too was not the clear choice of her states voters.

Why do these ppl try to play it cute? Either our elections are free and fair for all, or for none. This idea, popular in the GOP but also with Abrams, that one candidate on the same ballot was treated fairly, in her case Warnock, but others, like herself, no, is pure poppycock.

And bad for our country...

Leslie, You do not blame the corporations but you do, which is it? Why does anyone or anything contribute to political elections. To get favors from the person if they win. Pure and simple our politicians are for sale and they are open about it. Why would FTX give 30 million dollars to the democrats, to get favors. Are they going to give the money back, doubt it. I don't support anyone or company giving to political campaigns and I think it should be tax payer paid. The networks should have to provide free and equal time to the candidates. this will never happen because money talks and the one with the biggest spend has a great advantage.

I don't know if you are aware but corporations are owned by stockholders which includes pension funds. If they don't make a profit the shareholders and workers suffer. I'll try to help you out where I can.

So skuddy ole buddy, you do get at least part of it. Keep digging ole buddy and you'll eventually get there. Glad to be help help.

skud whines about a 30 million corporate donation for the Democratic candidates (thank you Citizens United) but says nothing of the 500 million dark money drop to the Republican side of things a month or two before the midterms. Can't have it both ways.

Former President Reagan demolished the fairness doctrine - where is the condemnation as to how Mainstream Media has responded skud?

Media Matters for America has the data proving how big a part the news agencies played in both the 2016 and 2020 elections. As another blogger I read has noted, the Democratic party can win a battle with either the Magats or the media but not both, and certainly not when the Magats and media team up together.

We didn't get here in a vacuum, the path was forged one greedy step after another. After all, wasn't it CBS who said the insurrection may have been horrible for the country but it was awesome for the network in viewership and market share? I am most likely wrong in the details but not the sentiment.

PS - skud, you are the only one still blathering about how all Republicans are Magats. It's the old rectangle and square issue. All squares can be defined as a rectangle (two parallel lines joined by four 90 degree angles) but not all rectangles are squares (four equal length sides joined with 90 degree angles). Let it go... unless your accusation is a confession? Enquiring minds are inquiring.

Leslie, I do have a question, Why is it a great idea to increase taxes on corporations and not increase tariffs on imported goods especially from china? Take your time because it is complicated.

The effect is the same, it is all passed along to the consumer but. I'm sure it is not the fact that democrats hate corporations, as they have their hand out, and republicans are in favor of fair and equal treatment of trade. If the country got away from the hostage taking IRS and go to a Fair Tax system we could put those 87000 agents on the border instead of in your checkbook. Of course that would mean admitting we have a border problem and admitting the border is not secure.

Wow. Skuds both siderism with a healthy dollop of It’s OK If You Are A Republican is a dish best served outside, with a stick.

For the record, I do despise Corporations for a couple of reasons. First is the empty promises they made to the workers several decades ago, that if we’d just bear down and do more with less we’d all be rewarded when the recession ended. They lied. The only humans who received any benefit weren’t the ones doing the work.

Second - I have an issue with a ruling class that pays themselves mass bonuses and stiffs the workers doing the actual labor.

Tax the rich. Reverse Citizens United. Place limits on how much the top CEO’s and CFO’s can earn. It’s obscene that the pay of those at the top has increased over 1000 percent and the minimum wage is still the same.

On my phone so no data but y’all lived through it too. The facts back me up

Yes, the facts back you up GOTS.

And I'm right with you. Corporations have been lying for years. And it's about time society caps the pay and bonuses execs can receive. As well as raising the minimum wage to at least15 dollars an hour.
