Trump's Ignorance

We will soon have a man-child swear to "preserve, protect, and defend" the U.S. Constitution, which he knows nothing about. Essentially, Trump is a lazy man whose interests lie in grandstanding and having his supporters shower him in salutes and screams of adulation -- thus the egotistical "Victory Lap" he took last week to further inflate his already Hindenburg-size self-regard.

I have to laugh as I recall the TeaPublicans' accusations against President Obama. Remember? They claimed Mr. Obama would "fundamentally change America."  In fact the man they voted for is doing that very thing, but it seems not to bother them because he has an "R" after his name.

Evan McMullin explains:

TRUMP'S THREAT TO THE CONSTITUTION

A life-long Republican elector vows to vote against Trump.

Not much did between Palin and Trump... neither could speak in anything other than word salad or comment on anything they've read.

Fascinating, and scary...

I don't understand how a person who wants to be president can willingly miss intelligence briefings.

Dave Miller said...

Jerry... he's been real busy. Maybe State, Defense and the rest of our security apparatus should schedule meetings at 3:00am.

He seems to have time available about then...

Ask Obama and have him explain how he misses almost 60% of them "the President has attended 42.1% of them since he was sworn in" and DJT is not the president yet just the Elected President.

Ms. Shaw, as for your claim about Trumps "Ignorance ", please take notice that Obama was truthful as well when he said he was going to redistribute money people worked for and give it to those who choose not to work. He almost accomplished his goal to totally destroy the middle class and wipe out small businesses.
Then something remarkable happened. The middle class in middle America woke up and said enough. We would rather have a inexperience non-politician run the country than an admitted liar who will only represent the special interest groups and the rich.

When things were going the leftist way they were all about the EC, now it is terrible.
Don't you feel marginalized.

Just to let you know, in case you don't already know that the electoral college does not vote until December 19th. We have about approximately 30 or so days until it's finalized .
What does this mean, you may ask?
Well here's what it means, right now, the presidential election results are only a PROJECTION of the election outcome. They are PRELIMINARY RESULTS. A candidate still needs to earn 270 electoral votes to win. Hillary Clinton won the popular vote, which means that more than 50% of the voters wanted her for president. The electoral college shouldn’t guarantee an override of the public’s opinion– and it doesn’t have to.
There are 21 states that do NOT restrict which candidate the electors vote for. Out of these 21, Hillary lost the following:
These states are worth 166 electoral votes. As it currently stands, Hillary Clinton is projected to receive 232 votes. Trump is projected to win 306. This means that 37 votes need to be taken away from Trump to bring him down to 269. Hillary Clinton needs 38 votes ADDED to win 270. These electoral voters can also abstain, which means that they can refuse to vote for either candidate. If 37 of the voters within these states abstain then no candidate will have reached the required 270. In this case, the vote would be taken to the House.
Trump won Pennsylvania, a state that typically votes blue, by less than 100,000 votes. While it is highly unlikely to get all 20 electoral voters to cross party lines and vote democrat, it also isn’t impossible to convince a few of them to be “faithless electors.” We only need to convince 38 out of the 166. That is 23%. There are SIXTEEN states we need to focus our attention on.
A move like this would be unprecedented. However, as we all saw on November 8th, odds don’t guarantee reality. Trump had a less than 20% chance of winning, yet given the circumstances, enough people came together and made it happen. We can make this happen.
Ask yourself this: What do we have left to lose? We can stay complacent and accept that this country will be run by a racist, sexist, islamophobic, homophobic, ablest bigot, or we can at least tryto let people know that we do not accept being led by a man who does not care about our wellbeing. Email your professors, email the dean of your colleges. The last thing a university wants is negative press. Millenials can take a stand, but that doesn’t mean we have to be the only ones. Church-led events helped bring a lot of disillusioned voters to the polls. Spread the word in any way possible, whether it be on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, or even in person. Stage a peaceful protest. Hand out flyers. Let the people around you know that you don’t accept this man as your leader when he won’t even accept you as a citizen with your designated rights.
These 166 people need to face the consequences of electing this man.
Do this for the people who couldn’t vote. Do this for the people who live in the very real fear of being deported. Do this for the people who will have to face the rise in hate crimes. Do this for the people who have a very real possibility of losing their rights. Do this for the people who will no longer be able to afford necessities.

A Friend @2:27: "...Obama was truthful as well when he said he was going to redistribute money people worked for and give it to those who choose not to work."

Can you find the exact quote where Mr. Obama "said he was going to redistribute money people worked for and give it to those who choose not to work."

Without verifiable facts, that statement is meaningless.

A Friend @2:32,

Thanks for your comment.

skudrunner's comment about Mr. Obama missing 60% of his intelligence briefings alerted my b.s. meter, so I checked out what he posted. Here's what I found.

You can read the actual FACTS, and not the b.s. that the rabid right likes to spread around the internet HERE and HERE and HERE

But the right wingers who voted for Trump swallow any anti-Obama/liberal garbage that's on the internet, and they're too lazy to research the facts.

President Obama is and has been a conscientious president. He did skip out on the daily intelligence briefings but had them delivered in an alternate way.

Technology is a beautiful thing Shaw, making those who use it more productive. The downside is you lose the human element and all that implies, if anything.

Dave, he seeks his own counsel and then tweets. Strange stuff.

Ms Shaw,

In all fairness to you and your truth meter, -H- did not get over 50% of the votes.

Another truth meter moment from your own reference
The White House does not directly dispute the numbers, but insists they are a "selective representation of the facts." Obama has never "skipped" a Presidential Daily Briefing, aides say, even if an in-person briefing isn't listed on his schedule.

Taking semantics to the edge but What difference does it make, as -H- says.

On the statement that obama was going to redistribute wealth, you couldn't have been in the shower that long and missed that.

You seem to misunderstand the EC. It is to confirm a president representing a cross section of America not just the left and loony coasts. I do remember you were all for it until -H- got her a-- handed to her by the middle class. I would hate to see the repercussions if the EC stole the election but the clinton crime family has done worse things so time will tell.

We do live in interesting times.

Skud: "In all fairness to you and your truth meter, -H- did not get over 50% of the votes."

Shaw: True. And I never said she got 50%. But also true is the fact that Trump got a lower percentage of the popular vote than Romney did in 2012 and Kerry did in 2004. Hillary's take of the popular vote is something like 48.6% and Trump's is 46.2%, last time I looked. Rounded off, Hillary has 49% to Trump's unimpressive 46% (GWB got 47%). Remember Trump mocked Romney for losing to Mr. Obama in 2012, but the fact is that Trump got fewer votes than Romney! Ha! That must burn his prodigious billionaire's arse.

Shaw: The difference, skud, is that Mr. Obama read the PDBs, he didn't miss 60% of them as you tried to falsely claim. Instead of listening to the PDBs, he read them himself.

As far as we know, Trump is not listening to the PDBs or reading them. IF you have evidence to the contrary, please provide.

CORRECTION: AS of Dec. 5, Hillary's percentage of popular vote is 48.2%, not 48.6%.

The material writes itself

"His father, Michael Flynn Snr, Mr Trump's pick to be US national security adviser, has also shared fake news."

Simply stunning. What is there to say other than we were sure he'd make sound decisions because he'd surround himself with qualified people. Evidently that includes aides who start rumors that Clinton ran a paedophile ring out of a pizza joint.

What a freaking parcel of rogues.

So far, there's no one single person chosen for a cabinet position who is qualified nor who possesses the needed level of understanding and character. Disaster looms for our great nation.

The republicans have a long history of selecting unqualified people to run government agencies as a means of proving that government services don't do the job that that are supposed to do.
