Hunter Biden Indicted on Gun Charges

The Justice Department charged President Biden’s son after the collapse of an earlier plea deal and amid an impeachment investigation by House Republicans.

Active addiction brings a whole host of clean-up in sober recovery. Sober recovery requires taking responsibility for the mess, cleaning it up, facing whatever the penalties are, and then moving on to a much better life. Hunter Biden is not the first nor will he be the last cleaning up the mess.

It is sad, ironic, but somehow not surprising that HB is indicted on this charge. While the charge is plausibly warranted, the ironic part is that if HB were a Republican we can be certain that all Republicans would be defending him over gun rights, and they'd be furious about the existence of any gun laws.

Since HB is the son of a Democratic president, the switch flips, and the Republicans are all for indicting over violation of the most minor of gun laws.

It is an unholy irony that Republicans are celebrating Hunter Biden's indictment when they have been maniacally devoted to eliminating all forms of gun control, including the very licenses that Biden is alleged to have falsified.

I guess "shall not be infringed" that -FJ bleated about in P.E. comments recently is indeed applied only to Republican gun ownership?  Irony indeed!

No we shall wait to see what will happen.

The son of a president, indicted for essentially going off the rails and breaking the law.

Now the Hunter Biden fiasco moves to the courts.

We should also this...

The DOJ has opened an office to protect officers and agents who are under threat from right wing terrorists in our nation threatening to kill FBI and DOJ personnel if they do not get the result they want in the Hunter Biden case.

Right wing extremists have also threatened US judges, lawyers and grand jury members in the many Donald Trump cases.

Yes, libs have attacked both state and federal buildings around the country in acts of vandalism. And that has been wrong. But to date, we have not seen the kind of hate directed at individuals from the left that we are seeing from the right.

Why is that?

Have you read the unhinged all caps rants coming from Hunter and the White House? Of course not because the Bidens, father and son, have more dignity, decorum and honesty than the twice impeached, four times indicted for serious crimes, insurrection leader.

Who wrote (AND SUPPORT) the laws infringing upon the 2nd amendment?

Look in the mirror. :)

The 2'nd (abomination) is but a relic of a by gone era. An era which no longer exists and never will again. This era is INCAPABLE of handling that much deadly freedom. It proves it nearly every day.

Scrap the 2'nd and replace it with a fully understandable, universally enforced, and REASONABLE law that allows for hunters and sportsmen to use firearms for those reasons but making it a hell ofa lot harder for a-holes with nefarios intent to ever own a weapon. And, invoke an outright ban on semi and automatic weapons for civilian use.

But the the minority cons and repubs will continue to stand in the waby of change. And therenfore bear full responsibility for the continued mass shootings alk across this delusional land.

So to be clear, -FJ supports the right of domestic abusers, crack addicts, 14-year-old kids, and violent criminals on parole to buy and open-carry AR-15s?

I suppose that's who the founders had in mind for their militias to hunt and kill escaped slaves and Native Americans for sport, amirite? And of course to wage war on the US to preserve slavery.

And we may also suppose -FJ is good with his neighbor having chemical/biological weapons and an ICBM or two in his back yard, just to get even with those libtards who want to take away his "freedom".

When I was 14 years old, i had a .22, a .30-.30, and a 12 gauge shotgun.

Surprise! I didn't kill anybody. I did (eventually) shoot a 3 point buck (western count), a wild pig, numerous quail, and thousands of tin cans/ paper targets.

I also had a hammer and a screwdriver. I didn't bash anyone's head in or shank anyone.

Good for you.

I also hunted as a younger man.
The question for Joe Conservative isn't about his youth or legal use of firearms.
It's whether he would take up arms against our republic in the name of Donald Trump.

Congrats JC aka FJ, aka freesoul1957 etc... l had very similar experiences, starting at age. 12. Which is why i stated the aforementioned poistion. The current stand of the criminal NRA and the gop is straight up bullshit. No civilian needs the firepower the criminal NRA and the gop push in support of gun and ammo manufacturers, as well as the criminals that are mass killing folks in schools, churches, malls, etc.

Dump the 2'nd abomination and replace it with fully understandable (to everyone) and ethical law. Allowing for legitimate firearm use by civilians but with sensible restrictions.

Grow up NRA. Grow up gop.

Guns are tools. Jet airplanes are tools. As 9/11 proved, I can kill a LOT more people with a jet airplane.

Like I said previously, I didn't pass the infringements into law, that would be you. There's nothing two-faced in what I'm saying.

ps - Anybody want to buy an unlicensed flame thrower, cheap? They only "infringe" upon them in MD, so far as I know.

What's their purpose? Oh, "not to kill". They must be okay then.

"The Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees a "right of the people to keep and bear arms." However, the meaning of this clause cannot be understood apart from the purpose, the setting, and the objectives of the draftsmen. At the time of the Bill of Rights, people were apprehensive about the new national government presented to them, and this helps explain the language and purpose of the Second Amendment. It guarantees, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." The need for a State militia was the predicate of the "right" guarantee, so as to protect the security of the State. Today, of course, the State militia serves a different purpose. A huge national defense establishment has assumed the role of the militia of 200 years ago. Americans have a right to defend their homes, and nothing should undermine this right; nor does anyone question that the Constitution protects the right of hunters to own and keep sporting guns for hunting anymore than anyone would challenge the right to own and keep fishing rods and other equipment for fishing. Neither does anyone question the right of citizens to keep and own an automobile. Yet there is no strong interest by the citizenry in questioning the power of the State to regulate the purchase or the transfer of such a vehicle and the right to license the vehicle and the driver with reasonable standards. It is even more desirable for the State to have reasonable regulations for the ownership and use of a firearm in an effort to stop mindless homicidal carnage."

No Amendment is unlimited.

Dave Dubya said...

There's no doubt the "militia amendment" is antiquated AND the founders didn't include it as a national suicide pact.

I'll take it from his silence that -FJ "Joe" would be ok with his neighbor having a stockpile of chemical and biological weapons in his ICBM silo next door.

No damn snowflake infringements for HIM. For HE is a reasonable man.

FJ, Joe Conservative, freesoul1957 etc (depending on the time, and day) likely supports no government as the best government. He seems to prefer pre Civil War reality over the 21st century. A very limited government and extremely racist and violent.

It appears he prefersn to live an illusion. A deep dark stinky place with tRump and the other MAGAt's.

Joe Conservative said...

So long as I can have my ICBM silo targeting his, I've got no problem.

Democrats HATE equity unless everybody's living in their workhouse.

Joe Conservative said...

btw - Why don't you have a problem with the Deep State's stockpiles of ICBMs, biological, and chemical weapons stockpiles, Dave? Cuz the bureaucrats would never target their own people like Sadam did at Halabja?

I already live within the evacuation zones of the APGEA's labs and stockpiles. They even have warning signs on the buildings there allowing Security Guards to shoot tresspassers on sight and to not venture into the surrounding woods less you might accidently detonate some unexploded ordinance.

Dave Dubya said...

It reveals Joe's underlying militia cult fear to react as if I said the ICBM was targeting him. I didn't. Instead he fantasized of HAVING ONE. MAD seems to be his chosen default.

Here's more of what he assumes I think: "Why don't you have a problem with the Deep State's stockpiles of ICBMs, biological, and chemical weapons stockpiles, Dave?"

Does he really think I have no objections to this madness? But he thinks its fine if his neighbor has WMDs.

Go figure.

Hey Dave, as you know, reason and logic are often in short supply among the MAGA'ts. Especially amongst those who spend their time constantly massaging their delusions and over active ego.
