Trump was a rotten businessman. Plus, he paid no taxes 8 out of 10 years 1985 - 1994

Newly obtained tax information reveals that from 1985 to 1994, Donald J. Trump’s businesses were in far bleaker condition than was previously known.

By the time his master-of-the-universe memoir “Trump: The Art of the Deal” hit bookstores in 1987, Donald J. Trump was already in deep financial distress, losing tens of millions of dollars on troubled business deals, according to previously unrevealed figures from his federal income tax returns.

Mr. Trump was propelled to the presidency, in part, by a self-spun narrative of business success and of setbacks triumphantly overcome. He has attributed his first run of reversals and bankruptcies to the recession that took hold in 1990. But 10 years of tax information obtained by The New York Times paints a different, and far bleaker, picture of his deal-making abilities and financial condition. The data — printouts from Mr. Trump’s official Internal Revenue Service tax transcripts, with the figures from his federal tax form, the 1040, for the years 1985 to 1994 — represents the fullest and most detailed look to date at the president’s taxes, information he has kept from public view.

Though the information does not cover the tax years at the center of an escalating battle between the Trump administration and Congress, it traces the most tumultuous chapter in a long business career — an era of fevered acquisition and spectacular collapse.

Don't forget, Trump's "foundation" was a scam.

Also, he cheated on all 3 wives and his mistresses too.

600+ former federal prosecutors say trump would have been indicted for obstruction of justice if he wasn't the POSPOTUS.

This is the scoundrel and fraud that the rabid righties admire and disgustingly continue to support.

Trump lost more money in the decade of 1985-1994 than any other individual, probably in history. And a lot of it was in the casino business. Even during the period of Ronald (scum bag) Reagan's trickle down economics when filthy rich pukes should have been thriving. How this dumb ass moron conned himself into the White House is a mystery to me. Maybe I'll go ask some of his wretched deplorable idiotic supporters. NOT!!

I do remember when the greatest president in recent times was being attacked by the democrats. Reagan was attacked in a similar way as trump is being attacked but then there was no twitter, facebook and so many liberal media outlets.

Instead of spending all their powder on attacking trump why don't the democrats develop a platform for the American people instead of just hating trump. Other than everything free what is the democratic platform? They don't have much to offer because the previous administration was so anti middle class that it seems to be the standard for the democrat's, do nothing but make a lot of noise.

I hope trump doesn't run because we need a different conservative in the office, Nikki comes to mind.

The presidency of Ronald Reagan in the United States was marked by multiple scandals, resulting in the investigation, indictment, or conviction of over 138 administration officials, the largest number for any U.S. presidaent.

The GOP has a habit of lionizing crooked, corrupt, and incompetent presidents. Trump is just carryinbg on a GOP tradition: Nixon, Reagan, Bush II, and Trump.

The taxation of Social Security began in 1984 following passage of a set of Amendments in 1983, which were signed into law by President Reagan in April 1983.

This tax affected middle and lower class Americans. Reagan made sure the millionaires and billionaires made out well. Another GOP tradition of screwing the middle and lower classes.

Maybe you, skud, are okay with a lying, cheating, fraud who breaks the law. A majority of Americans is not.

The Democrats need to keep the fact that Trump is a fraud who doesn't pay taxes like other elites, who is a crook front and center and also the fact that the GOP wants to ruin Americans' lives by taking away their health insurance and leaving them with nothing. NOTHING. Another GOP family value: Putting babies and children in cages.

Now we sit back and watch the corrupt Trump administration try to drag America into another fake war.

I'm really sorry to have read all this garbage about you

I would have never thought that you would think that way.

But I guess that I was wrong.

skudrunner Here's Trump being as swampy as swampy can get:

Corporate Welfare Wins Again in Trump’s Washington

You say the Dems are running only on "free stuff?" You NEVER, NEVER, NEVER mention corporate welfare, do you.

Ray, it appears the Trumpistas are eating their own. "I really don't care. Do you?"

Ray, I don't visit that site so their opinion of me mean nothing. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and the far right and the far left do have something in common. They blindly follow the leader off the cliff without engaging their brain to have an independent opinion.

Ms Shaw, the Kennedy's paid virtually no FIT and the Clinton's established a charity to pay for their lavish lifestyle and support their dautghter, tax free. Anyone that pays more than they need to in FIT is not very smart or not very wealthy. The majority of wealth in this country is held by democrat liberals who don't want to share the wealth but are fine with sharing others. Maybe you are becoming a supporter of the FAIR TAX where everyone pays the FAIR share.

We can only hope Shaw. We can only hope.

skud, just to bring you into reality: The Trump Foundation was dissolved by NY state because of fraud. The Clinton Foundation was investigated and is still in operation.

Do you have evidence to back up your claim that the majority of wealth in this country is owned by Liberals? You make sweeping claims with no evidence all the time. Sorta like America's Criminal-in-Chief, DJT.

The fact that the Criminal-in-Chief brags about not paying taxes is bad enough for a POTUS, but to be proud of not contributing to the tax base that supports our military is shocking for a Republican. They're such military fetishizers, and you and other Goopers aren't bothered by Trump's disregard for our men and women in uniform? Y'know the ones he and that assh*le Bolton are getting ready to slaughter in another baseless war.

The GOP has a history of crooks and criminals serving as POTUS:

Nixon, Reagan, Bush, Jr., and now the worst: Trump.

To date, more people in the Trump camp – including foreign nationals – have been indicted for felonies than any administration in the last 50 years except Nixon’s.

We cross-checked the Open Secrets list of the top 100 individuals donating to outside spending groups in the current election against the Forbes list of the world’s billionaires and found that, as of June 19, there were 22 individuals on the Open Secrets list who were billionaires. Of those 22 billionaires, 13 -- or more than half -- gave predominantly to liberal groups or groups affiliated with the Democratic Party. The other nine gave predominantly to conservative groups.
Add to this Hollywood and professional athletes are dominated by democrats.

I will assume you are referring to corporate incentives as corporate welfare. Corporations do provide employment and products all of us need and use. Freebies provide nothing including enhancing self worth. Goes back to the give a man a fish versus teach a man to fish. Freebies with no requirements make the recipient dependent on the giver IE the government. I realize that is the liberal ideal of buying elections through freebies.
