The Current Republican/Trumpublican Party Currently Embarrassing Themselves AND America,

AND THE REPUBLICAN SNOOPS AND ANTI-FREE SPEECH HITS KEEP ON COMING:

"House Bill 2199 restricts the definition of gender to the person's natural gender at birth and then requires that all pronoun use be reflective of that same gender. Any violation by an institution that receives state funding, including public schools, would be subject to a $1,500 fine."

Youngkin's handpicked Department of Education head, Aimee Rogstad Guidera, deleted references to MLK Day and Juneteenth from its history curriculum. According to a report in LGBTQ Nation, Ronald Reagan is mentioned five times, but President Obama, who made history as our first bi-racial POTUS, just once.

"VA Education Dept. Backtracks from Labeling Native Americans as “America’s First Immigrants”

The commonwealth of Virginia is home to seven federally recognized tribes: the Pamunkey Indian Tribe, Chickahominy, Eastern Chickahominy, Upper Mattaponi, Rappahannock, Nansemond and Monacan.

Alton Carroll, a history professor at Northern Virginia Community College who is of Mescalero Apache descent, told Native News Online that his initial read of the proposed standards stood out to him for being “so glaringly wrong, and so heavily partisan.”

"...so glaringly wrong, and so heavily partisan?" How about disrespectful, spiteful, and cruel? I'd add those two descriptions as well.

Insane:

The new GOP-controlled House is letting liars and conspiracy theorists lead its agenda

Wisconsin GOP makes conversion therapy legal again

"The Republican-controlled Joint Committee for Review and Administrative Rules in Wisconsin voted to strike down a ban on conversion therapy last week, effectively making the practice legal.

Conversion therapy is a broad term that can describe many practices that generally involve trying to force homosexuals and other LGBTQ+ people to be straight. The methods involved in these practices are highly discredited by medical professionals, and those who have been victims of conversion therapy have described it as torture."

If  you could "de-gay" a person, could it be possible to "de-hetero" someone too? That would make sense to the homophobic wackos in Wisconsin, I guess.

A Republican/Trumpublican loser and thug tried to take revenge on Democrats, because he obviously learned from a champ, (See 6th, Jan. 2021)  that that's the way to settle political scores. Amirite?

New details emerge about plot to shoot at New Mexico Democrats’ homes Solomon Peña, a defeated candidate for the state legislature, paid people to fire on the houses of four Democratic office-holders, authorities say.

This is still, IMO, the stupidest of the stupid nincompoopery from the current  Republican/Trumpublican Party:

Below is the Republican/Trumpublican Party's most admired US Representative's opinion about student debt he never incurred to go to a college he never attended.

(The coward and cajones-less Speaker of the House, McCarthy, has assigned this Liar, Cheat, and Fraud to House committees because, let's face it, the current GQP rewards folks who Lie and Cheat, and George Anthony DeVolder Santos is the kind of fake conman the current Republican/Trumpublican Party admires and believes is a great representative of Conservative Republican Christian values.

Well, at least we've got someone on board to save us from Jewish Space Lasers wildfires.

I would hope that santos didn't have any debt from a school he didn't attend. Politicians across the board embarrass the American people. From santos, swalwell, marvelous maxine, schiff to joey b. Now that joey b is being exposed my some of the media he is in deep trouble. I don't think he did anything wrong regarding the confidential documents because he is clueless to what is going on around him. Remember after two years even barry quit blaming the previous administration. Of course cotton top still makes that statement almost daily so it hasn't filtered down to the spokesperson or chief reader

Let's remember MTG is also a person who claimed the Parkland shooting was a false flag, or in plain English, was done by the US Government.

Given the views of so many current GOP members, how can any person be taken seriously when they say they love America while supporting these clowns?

They have lied about the 2020 elections in an effort to overturn the will of a majority of the voting US public. They gave aid, comfort and support to a mob of people who caused millions of millions of dollars of damage to the US Capitol. They have minimized the injuries to over 100 US Capitol police. They threatened to kill the Vice President of the US. They have promoted the killing of US members of Congress. They have shot of the home of a Democrat because they believe she stole an election in New Mexico.

America is in peril. And while the Dems are not perfect, they are not striking at the heart of the US Democracy.

skud thinks he's being bipartisan in his criticism of politicians when he includes ONE lying liar, Santos, then goes on to name 4 Democrats, including the POTUS!

Isn't he swell?

The current Republican/Trumpublican Party is unserious. Just look at the fact that they've not kicked Santos' lying posterior out of the party, and have, in fact, given him committee assignments. The GOP is a clown show of inept cowards and dissemblers.

MT Greene? Good Lawd! She 3 sandwiches short of a picnic for two!

As I've said before, the GOP is not a political party, it's a clown show run by a bunch of horses' bottoms.

Dave Miller said...

Shaw... let's remember, Skud is not a serious person. He offers no real solutions, never brings links to buttress his position, agrees with the great majority of the actions of the current GOP and can't resist his supposedly cute snarkiness.

Let's add to the idiocy of the current MAGA GOP... their ppl in Congress, who when in power expanded the federal debt to unseen levels, now want to crash the US economy, our retirement accounts, Social Security and more by saying we should decide to not pay our bills.

All to appease the crazies like MTG, Gaetz, Boebert, Gosar and more while working hard to investigate a presidential son who is not even part of our government.

Great priorities.

Dave Miller said...

The current House GOP... 118 members who believe the lie that the 2020 election was stolen from Donald Trump.

118 people who are too stupid or unwilling to see the truth, did not vote to certify the election of Joe Biden as president because they believed the results of the 2020 election were owed to massive unproven, unfounded voter fraud.

These are the clowns now in control of the US House.

The rally around the flag and bible nutters of the gop/trumpublican party are not connected to any truthful political, social, or economic reality. They worship power, and anything that puts and keeps them there is acceptable. Truth, integrity, and basic human decency seems in short supply in the cultish gop. J6 2021 and our rogue ex president Trump proves this to be so IMO.

Individuals sharing the views similar skud's are simply enablers for the nutters. Essentially they are almost as guilty as those who actively engaged in the kinds of activities Dave so accurately outlined above.

Why folks who feign disagreement with the gop/trumpublican tactics are so afraid to actually call them out and rake them over the coals for their, IMO treason, is dumbfounding. But maybe it's just me. And. i suppose i could be wrong.

In any case this nation is in peril as Dave points out. Whether or not we recover and regain our footing is the million dollar question. Anybody's guess is as good as the next. Personally, if this nation is to recover from tRump and the cult mentality he started it will likely be up to our grandchildren's generation to set things right again. And i don't mean politically right (conservative).

American politics is rapidly becoming a thing to AVOID. Something the looney-tunes of the rightwing are no doubt praying for. It will make their take over of American democracy a much easier road for them travel.

The advanced cultures around the globe must me laughing. As they watch America become a certifiable clown show. Except it's not funny.

The great majority of mass shootings in the US... Rightwing GOP supporting Conservatives.

The man who shot at the home of an election winners because he believed without evidence that an election was stolen... Rightwing GOP supporting Conservative.

The man who shot up a pizza restaurant because he believed without evidence that is was house of child porn supported by Democrats... Rightwing GOP supporting Conservative.

The people who sent over 100 US Capitol Police officers to hospitals after beating them with poles, sticks, shields, fists and kicking them repeatedly... Rightwing GOP supporting Conservatives.

The man who broke into the home of the Speaker of the House and beat her husband with a hammer... Rightwing GOP supporting Conservative.

None of this is opinion. These are verifiable facts. Based on the evidence, the current Rightwing GOP supporting Conservatives are a danger to the US and our democracy and willing to use deadly violence to satisfy their demands.

What other conclusion can we draw?

Hey now, don't go pickin' on my Missouri crazies. Theys' tryin' to take care o' de impotent stuff first. Did you know we have a bust of Rush Limbaugh in our statehouse? Yep, impotent stuff!

Santos is trying to out-crazy tRUMP and he's off to a running start.

Why doesn't the nuts jobs shooting at the Dem's houses surprise me? It's sad but not surprising.

The woman who said “We would have won” if she’d led the terrorist attack, Marjorie Taylor Greene, on the U.S. Capitol … is now on the Committee charged with countering terrorism.

The Republicans place election deniers and anti-democracy thugs on sensitive committees in the House.

Mike Every state has its nutballs. Right now, the nutballs seem to be overrunning state houses in a lot of Republican-led legislatures.

A state of Rush in the Missouri State House? OMG!

Has anyone else noticed that you never hear his name mentioned anymore. Maybe he's a hometown hero in Missouri, but I never, ever hear him mentioned. He built his career on being one mean-spirited bastid who, on his radio show heard by millions, made fun of a 12-year old girl, a guy with Parkinson's disease, and African-Americans almost on a daily basis. He bragged that he smoked 4 or 5 cigars a day and that the science that said doing so contributes to lung cancer is WRONG.

You don't mess with Mother Nature. Ever! She always wins in the end.

Found this from 2020:

Updated Aug 13, 2020, 03:01pm EDT

Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Trump-endorsed small business woman and adherent of the unfounded QAnon conspiracy theory running as the GOP nominee for a safely Republican U.S. House seat in Georgia, espoused a 9/11 conspiracy theory in a 2018 interview.

Shortly after finishing first in the GOP primary in Georgia’s 14th District in June, Greene was denounced by Republican House leaders for Facebook videos, unearthed by Politico, in which she warns of an “Islamic invasion” of the U.S. and compares Black Lives Matter activists to the KKK.

Greene is also a believer of the QAnon conspiracy theory, which posits that President Trump is working to thwart a group of liberal politicians, government workers and celebrities who are operating a sex trafficking ring.

A newly unearthed video from 2018, first reported by Media Matters, shows Greene repeating debunked claims about the September 11th attacks, a common subject of fringe conspiracy theories.

Greene refers to the hijacked American Airlines Flight 77 as “the so-called plane that crashed into the Pentagon,” adding “It's odd there's never any evidence shown for a plane in the Pentagon,” despite video evidence that confirms the flight did hit the Pentagon.

The GOP Today... and maybe how a little bit of how conservatives have been forever in this country.

Check out this "headline" from a good avatar of conservative blogs...

Dateline: [Islamic?] Terrorist Attack On Las Vegas Solar Plant

Note the term Islamic bracketed and with a question mark. That is the new and improved headline. After I commented that perhaps defining someone as an Islamic Terrorist simply based on his name, even as the FBI and Las Vegas Police saw no Islamic connection seemed a little racist, it was changed.

Here though is the response I got, defending classifying someone based solely on their name...

"Names like Mesmerian's matter the vast majority of the time. And the media are loathe to make any connection with Islam. Islamophobia, you know. Pffffft!"

Anonymous said...

I saw that as well. The proprietor of the blog with the good avatar was, if i remember correctly, a good friend of FreeThinke. With the same view vis a vis Islam.

For many people old habits and beliefs are hard to change. Years of conditioning results in exactly what you've highlighted Dave.

But there is hope. Perhaps the widespread spiritual seeking taking place in America right now will lead to a better world. One in which greater awareness, no-duality, compassion, and wisdom will replace the ego driven division and hate that has become such a powerful force in our culture.

Thank you for all you do, both in Mexico and the USA, to foster understanding and compassion.

That person, predictably, never does the same labeling when young white American men with AR-15s commit massacres on Americans. Never have I read her or any other person's comment on "domestic terrorism" on that blog when that happens.

Why?

It's pretty damn obvious why.

Shaw Kenawe said...

PS. One of their commenters, recently deceased, RIP, used to refer to ALL MUSLIMS as "Moslem vermin," and the blog hosts of AOW and Geeez never, never, NEVER said anything about it.

And the reason for that is pretty damn obvious.

Dave Miller said...

Shaw... your point is exactly where I was coming from. Look, America is a majority Christian nation. Meaning, at least to me, that our roots are in that faith, and many of the rhythms of country, think Easter/Spring and Winter/Christmas are centered on Christian celebrations.

Are there other faiths? Of course, but the dominant faith of the US is based in Christianity.

I dare say a knee jerk reaction, as I pointed out on that blog, naming a killer a Christian terrorist simply based on a name like Smith, Thatcher or even Miller, would bring on howls of protest.

And yet we know that Christian Nationalism was indeed on full display in the Jan 6 insurrection.

Anytime you negatively and dismissively characterize individuals based on their name, it's wrong.
