Trumpublican Tax Dollars At Work?

The Republican-controlled Missouri House of Representatives used its session’s opening day Wednesday to tighten the dress code for female legislators, while leaving the men’s dress code alone.

The changes were spearheaded by state Rep. Ann Kelley (R), a co-sponsor who was among the Republicans seeking to require women to wear a blazer when in the chamber. She was met by swift opposition from Democrats who called it “ridiculous.”

No. Not bear arms. Bare arms. They  a passed a dress code that would ban female legislators from wearing clothes that reveal their arms.

"The caucus that lost their minds over the suggestion that they should wear masks during a pandemic to respect the safety of others is now spending its time focusing on the fine details of what women have to wear (and specifically how many layers must cover their arms) to show respect in this chamber," Merideth tweeted.

You know who else makes laws like this? The sharia laws the GOP was warning everyone about."

Another Republican politician not doing anything to help her constituents:

"Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders Bans ‘Latinx’ From Use in State Government On her first day of office, Sanders signed an executive order banning the term "Latinx" from official use in the state government."

Let's get started on GOP Tax Policy...

In their rules package, the GOP Majority made the decision that ANY increase in entitlement spending, for any reason, like say expanded unemployment during a recession or more aid to poor or malnourished children cannot come from ANY tax increases.

Worse, they have ruled that while those programs may be expanded, the funds also can only come from other presumedly necessary budget programs, like defense, Medicaid or disability programs.

Also, House Republicans have finally agreed to what us libs have said for years... that tax cuts do not pay for themselves and new budgets can grow the deficit by cutting taxes.

Your GOP working for people entrenching their MAGA tax policies.

Let's get to the important stuff right away. Also didn't I see MTG with bare arms in her video done with the illegal song?

Ms. Shaw, You are totally correct and that is called GRIDLOCK. So instead of doing what they are paid for they will just shut each other down. Although that is good for the taxpayer it is not that good for the American people of which almost 50% don't pay FIT.

Now we have the genius in Albany banning gas stoves in new buildings. That means they will use electric which comes from gas power plants. We do have some of the stupidest politicians money can buy.

Any specifics on why the decision to ban gas stoves in new buildings in Albany was made? What is the projected up side? Downside? Do you think new energy technoogies might be in the wings?

It's great to be critical of things. It's more interesting when you have some specifics and an alternative suggestion to kick around.

One thing is for sure. We cannot continue to do things the way we've always done them. Nothing is permanent. Everything changes. Nothing stays the same forever. Even if we wish it could.

Anon at 7:32 pm - there was a study conducted regarding the correlation of gas stoves and children with asthma. To ensure correlation equated to causation a study was performed and published.

No one is coming for anyone's gas stove; the study recommended humans move away from installing new gas stoves as using them in enclosed spaces is hazardous to those with lung issues. This was all anecdotal via hospitals and Primary Care doctors until the study proved it all true. I love science.

Of course there are those who freaked. They are the same folks who've been dining on a steady diet of hate and fear and now need their fix. The gas stove issue may not give them the high they crave but it's at least a bump which will keep them from crashing.

Thanks for your concise explanation Grey One talks sass. Seems perfectly reasonable to me. Maybe skud will, after reading your exlanation, rethink his auto default mode on this one. I mean miracles sometimes happen; don't they?

Grey, Very concise post and I am sure you are correct in what you posted. Not only do gas appliances emit hazardous to lungs but they can also burn. We should probably outlaw all things that pollute including power plants that operate off coal and NG. We should product electricity with atomic reactors but they pose different issues.

Maybe joey b will honor his transparency pledge and show how we are going to power everything electric because so far it is a massive failure except for the people who matter, the rich. Amazing how most things including our repressive tax code favor the rich and punish the middle class and the poor.

skud, you are such a stuffed animal with very little brain, aren't you? You are sure I'm correct?

Sigh.

Regarding your comment of outlawing polluters, you've heard of the Environmental Protection Agency, right? You know, the agency We The People put in place to clean up our air and waterways? It's been around for decades, amazing you haven't heard of it.

As for alternative power, the kids are already on the solutions. All We The People have to do is ensure Big Oil and Coal don't do to them what they did in the past.

How many environmentalists died over the past thirty or forty years? How many whistle blowers tried to tell us what we know now - that Oil and Gas corporations knew (THEY FREAKING THE HELL KNEW!!!!! - I might be fussy about this fact) their product was causing climate change. Instead of doing something to protect the life on this planet they sat on studies and ensured troublesome environmentalists were either bought off or eliminated. Anyway, they deserve to be sued into oblivion, just saying.

But I digress. So, solutions. The breakthroughs for wind power are amazing. Animal and insect safety requirements have modified original designs to produce many different set ups to fit anyone's living situation. Solar panels are no longer the clunky panels one puts on their roof. There are so many developments - solar powered clothing is a new thing I just found out about (you can power your phone by placing it in a pocket! It's like living in the future!). There was a kickstarter I saw for clear solar panels to replace windows in brick and mortar buildings. The tech is here, we just need to get it to the public.

This is just what I found in 30 minutes of searching. You are already on the internet skud and you couldn't google one alternative energy option? Very lame skud.

PS - how do you think the tax code got so repressive? You keep blaming the Democratic Party for actions taken by the Republican Party. Perhaps you need to recalibrate your outrage meter.

skud, perhaps your daily gas will help power a few things.
