AMERICA

Less than 50% of the 2024 popular vote put a convicted felon (a criminal), sexual assaulter, Liar, Cheat, and Fraud back  in office.

We are no longer the country of our parents and grandparents. We are a country that has embraced our worst impulses and decided that honor, decency, and belief in equal justice for all are no longer part of our American ethos.

We are changed forever because of today.

Here's your 47th POTUS:

It's Day 1… Here are the things President Elect Donald Trump has promised to do on Day 1 of his new administration. Now that he has assumed the office, the clock is running.

-He will “absolutely” end our Constitutionally approved birthright citizenship.

-Restore Title 42, a health emergency law, to limit immigration into the US.

-In the “first nine minutes” he will look at then approve pardons for the Jan 6 rioters and people who beat US Police officers.

-He will end the war in Ukraine.

-He will sign all necessary documents to charge Mexico and Canada a 25% Tariff on ALL products coming into the United States.

-Launch mass deportations on Day 1 of criminals, recent border crossers, and individuals who have been ordered deported by the courts.

There are more of course, but let’s start with these and see where it goes.

A very dark day for America, thanks to Trump’s love of the “poorly educated.”

Day one of The Felon President and the rioting INSURECTIONISTS have been pardoned.

The Wild Wild West is back. The narcissitic Felon President taking care of his thugs.

America, soon to become the world's newest shithole, ruled by The Felon President.

To be serious for the first time in weeks, how do we combat this willful and blissful ignorance of those who think Trump is some kind of messiah? Knowing that around 72 million Americans will ignore facts and data because somebody calls them socialist. The religious zealots may be the worst of them. If they can't think of a justification to vote for a serial liar and abuser of women the airways are full of preachers that will come up with reasons for them. It wouldn't surprise me at all if woman attending church services were soon required to keep their heads covered with the ridiculous hat Melania wore yesterday so Trump couldn't lean in close enough to kiss her. And nary one of these women will see anything wrong with it.

It's Tuesday... let's see how my list above panned out.

Birthright citizenship? Still in place.
Title 42? Not back in place.
Pardons for the Jan 6 protestors? Done.
War in Ukraine? Still raging.
25% Tariffs? Didn't happen.
Mass deportations? Nothing launched yet.

Some would call it a mixed bag. Most of his supporters really only care about two things... immigration and the Jan 6 Gang. They got one and ultimately will get the other.

Did I expect most of this happen on Jan 20 even though Trump said it would? Nope. Not at all. Because I know politicians say a lot of stuff on the campaign trail that needs to be, and should be recalibrated once in office.

However, somewhere along the line, GOP leaning partisans, I'm looking at the sailor types on the HMS Mothership, decided that when a Dem said he, or she said something on the campaign trail, it was Gospel and any deviation was a lie.

So given that standard, Trump lied.

Now let me say this for the Dem leaning folks.

Yesterday Trump got up early, did all the pomp of an inauguration, went to a rally and spoke again, for over an hour unscripted, signed a bunch of EOs there, partied and then returned to the White House and signed more EOs. Until late in the night.

Now stop and ask yourself this question... Do you think Biden would have been able to have kept up, and then started again early the next day?

The answer should be not a chance.

Then we come to this. Does anyone think the day before the Biden debate debacle that President Biden was great, charming, stable and governing with no problems?

Again, I'd say not a chance. Yet the party pretended what they saw was not accurate, what they knew was not true and that Biden was fine. Until Joe went public and reality set it. And in so doing, any credibility the party had was squandered. Because it looked as if the Dems had been hiding something, were purposely looking the other way, or clueless.

No Dem at that moment had a chance to win.

Trump is our president, duly elected by the American people, with a larger percentage of the vote than a number of his predecessors. I, like many of you, am not happy.

But let's be honest. This came about because the leaders of the Dem party didn't do their job early on and push an aging, feeble looking leaders to the curb and fight for an open primary.

Dave, Good to see you put your hate aside and look at the situation as what is best for the country. Will trump do everything he promised, no way, will he do what is best for the country, I believe he will. He has already taken steps to cut back on waste and pause government hiring as part of that.

I don't think his pardons of J6 people was the right thing to do but neither was bidens pardon for people who have not been charged including his family. The J6 folks were guilty of a crime otherwise why would you pardon them. Now biden has admitted his family and others are guilty even before they are accused.

Such as it is.

Kamala Harris wasn't Joe and she is certainly more intelligent, trustworthy, decent, empathetic, and imminently more capable than The Felon President.

The ignorant democrats and independents who stayed home and insured the Felon ascended to his Throne of Narcissim ought to hang their heads in shame.

Given the Citizenship Clause in the 14th Amendment, there will probably be
a drawn out legal fight. SCOTUS will likely shoot Trump in the foot. Alaskans
are furious, including the GOP there over the Denali renaming. Push em, and you have another blue state.

Well Skud... once again you are wrong. Biden specifically noted in his order that, there was to be no presumption of guilt. Either you can't accept that, or you are choosing not to do so. Charity amigo.

As for my "hate", I've never hated Trump, I don't even know him. I try to take things and people as they are but if folks change their views, which is always a possibility in politics, so be it. Fine. Just explain that change with a little bit of coherence.

As I've said many times, politics is politics. We get who we elect, whether we like it or not. But the GOP for decades has said, and yes, I quote... "Private immorality disqualifies someone from public leadership."

Now you can disagree with that statement, but since early in the Clinton Admin, it has been de rigueur, especially among evangelicals. That's a fact, pure and simple.

So, as someone who was raised in the evangelical world, I ask what changed? Were the views the GOP once held wrong back then? Or were they lying? You see, unlike conservatives, I understood how John Kerry was "for the bill" before he "was against the bill."

But libertarians and conservatives mocked him mercilessly for "flip flopping".

Does any of that matter any more? Are you, and other conservatives done with questioning when ppl flip flop universally? Or only when it benefits your side, your leader, your party.

Trump is not what's best for America. He's what we have. There's a big difference. Sadly you, like millions of others, disagree.

It is what it is.

Rev, "Biden specifically noted in his order that, there was to be no presumption of guilt" And of course that is the truth even though there are allegations. Trump said he didn't touch carroll so that must be the truth also.

I hope the DOJ does their job of going after criminals and does not single out any specific group like congress, families or individuals because they feel hurt by them. We have dealt with a weaponized DOJ for four hears and it has just hurt the country.

The idea of not appointing your predecessors cabinet or Washington elite and insiders is a good move because the corruption in DC needs addressing and if nothing changes then nothing will change.

The "Private immorality disqualifies" statement means we can eliminate all politicians because they all lie and cheat which make them immoral. I do agree trump is not whats best for American but he was the better alternative so for four years he is the best we have.
