(GONE FOR THE DAY TO CELEBRATE MY ENGLISHMAN'S BIRTHDAY AT THE GIBBET HILL GRILLE IN BEAUTIFUL GROTON, MASS. FARM TO TABLE FOOD!
I'LL CHECK IN LATER THIS EVENING FOR MORE COMMENTS.)
The FOTUS made this claim on Monday night.
None of it is true.
This is who's running the country, and he's obviously having mental problems.
"California officials said late Monday that President Donald Trump did not send the military into the state to “turn on the water,” as he claimed in a social media post.
Rather, federal officials turned on a federal water-pumping station in Northern California that had been down for maintenance, state officials said."
AND THIS:
There may be a few, uh, LAWS that would stop this harebrained idea by the FOTUS from being implemented. But Trump is a lawless felon, so...:
“We’re going to get approval, hopefully, to get them the hell out of our country, along with others — let them be brought to a foreign land and maintained by others for a very small fee.”
Trump said doing so would allow the federal government to avoid using U.S. jails “for massive amounts of money” and private prisons, which he said “charge us a fortune.”

I gotta push back a little. He knows exactly what he's doing here. Take a kernel of truth, a water pump was put back into service, add a heaping helping of bullshit and half of the country will swallow it whole. He knows his audience.
This fit nicely into his lies about The Great Northwest Valve and Delta Smelt. We live in a post truth America. The Daniel Dale's of this world can't change that. JoBama made the point that apathy is killing us. Couldn't agree more. The pundits tell us "people live busy lives" and don't have time to follow current events. Rubbish.
Most just can't be bothered, some consume only news that confirms their preconceived idea that it's that group over there that is causing all their problems (see the Mothership). And some ask "is that true".
Trump is weak, ignorant, lying, unstable narcissist but, above all, he's a con man and grifter. To him we're all marks.
Is this America still?
I think absolutely not.
The BSFp, his oligarch billionaire fascist buddies, and his suck up sheeple in congress grasping for every sliver of power they can are attempting to turn this nation into Amerika, a caricatures of Nazi Germany.
A sick narcissistic sob and his minority MAGA brownshirts can stick it where the sun don't shine.
Resist, Resist, Resist
Speak out. Write editorials, start anti Trump blogs, write to your "rep and senator", whatever you can do do it. This malignant narcissist CAN NOT be allowed to succeed. Your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren are depending on you to do the right thing by them. They deserve the freedoms and liberties we've have enjoyed.
Yes, Craig, what you posted is correct, but I also think Trump is not "all there," and what he's doing is being orchestrated by the Project 2025 thugs. Trump isn't capable nor smart enough to be doing all these disruptive and chaotic things at once.
So the water WAS turned on...
"Trump spent the first week of his second term using the presidency to glorify political violence and weaponize the threat of it against anyone who might consider criticizing him.
Trump pulled the security detail from former chief White House medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci, who is an enemy of MAGA thanks to his efforts to fight covid. He also ended security details for his former National Security Advisor John Bolton and his former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, both of whom have been targeted by Iran because they worked to advance Trump’s hard-line policies during his first term.
Bolton of course is an outspoken Trump critic, but Pompeo campaigned for his former boss just last fall. Trump repaid him by using mobster logic to justify endangering his wellbeing, cold-bloodedly telling reporters who asked him last week about the decision to pull the security detail that “there’s risks to everything.
Trump claims that the withdrawal of security is a cost saving measure, but we know better. (He’s giving back pay to troops discharged over the covid vax, after all.) He’s settling scores and letting everyone within the government, past and present, know that the price of protection is loyalty to him. This is a not a new tactic for Trump, who has often used implicit or explicit threats against his opponents."
This is NOT an American administration. Trump's MAGA are too steeped in idol worshipping to understand what is really going on.
The above bolded text is from "Public Notice."
Also, Trump is lazy and can barely read and write, never mind understand and process the thousands of pages of what his lackeys in the Project 2025 organization are up to.
As long as his sycophants tell him he's brilliant and beloved, they will get him to sign anything and everything they put in front of his little hands.
Does anyone seriously think Trump knows what the consequences of his EOs and halting of regular government processes will do to our economy and our citizens?
Your servile comment was expected and dismissed. As Craig said above, there was enough of a kernel of truth (water turned on) in the otherwise truthless post Trump published to excite his low-information, poorly educated MAGA bots.
The rest of us are onto Trump's fire hose of lies.
A son of mine who was employed by Boston College as a fund raiser for some time, had lunch with a very wealthy man who knew and had some dealings with Trump. This gentleman told my son Trump would sell his mother if he thought it would have brought a buck. And that he could not be trusted.
We all know this from many observations and following his wrecking tour since entering politics. But the gullible MAGA sheeple, who are wilfully ignorant will believe every false promise, every lie, and every bit of propaganda that rolls off his slithering tongue.
America is screwed. And we did it to ourselves. Apathy has many bedfellows apparently and obviously.
Calling our senators and representatives is even better! Resist! Resist! Resist!
Two thoughts this morning as it relates to Trump...
1. Illegal border crossings right now are at a six year low, thanks to the actions of the Biden Admin. Sadly, Biden and his crew were way too late to the party, let the border would fester and as a result, he lost the presidency. But as ppl consider Trump's success or failure on the border, his numbers should be based on how much improvement we see versus the numbers he inherited.
And...
2. The Trump Admin has paused or eliminated all Federal Grants to the states. Not some, but all. These pauses, or eliminations if it comes to that, will negatively impact ppl accessing federal safety net programs across the US, the majority of which serve red states. However, in Las Vegas, the University of Nevada system runs a fully grant based program to teach poor US children how to read... in English.
My wife runs a part of that program. Should she be concerned? Her entire office is concerned.
I get that an administration may have different priorities. But an instant funding cutoff creates uncertainty, confusion and chaos.
But then again, that's exactly what -FJ says he voted for.
Me, "add a heaping helping of bullshit and half of the country will swallow it whole."
FJ, "Get me a spoon"
The soul of a nation is reflected in its national leadership. When the soul of the leadership is dark or evil this then becomes the soul of the nation.
We are now living in very dark times. And the fog of ignorance and hate is growing thicker and thicker daily.
Fascism, when It comes to America will come clutching a bible and waving the flag.
It has arrived.
🤦♂️ Face palm.
We ponder whether the diagnosis of bone spurs was misspelled. He had
brain spurs and should have been kept far from the levers of power. What's next, mandatory enrollment in the Proud Boys? Will the states be entirely red
or entirely blue after his poker game?
I've got to hand it to Trump, but before I do, a few caveats.
I'm not a fan of many of his policies, or most certainly, his lack of compassion, empathy or outward care for people. He's boorish, he bullies and he's literally worse than a bull in a china shop.
That said, he's implementing his agenda in a way never before seen in America. NEVER.
Perhaps had Obama had been half as hell bent on doing so with his, we might now be here. Trump has said the political class has become a bunch of genteel losers, more interested inpro forma niceties than their agenda.
True or false, he's acting on that, consequences be damned. As some of my friends have said, "he's a 'son of a bitch', but he's our 'son of a bitch' ".
It's a take no prisoners, salt the ground and move ahead governing philiosophy. Congress in the way? Ignore them. Ppl say it's illegal? So what. It'll take a year to get a SCOTUS review and by then the system will be changed. A wayward Senator on your side? Go to his district and call him out.
Honestly, he ain't making friends in Washington, but if people don't see what the average American is seeing, they ain't looking.
Too many employees in Washington or the Federal Govt? Give 'em 7 months pay and benefits and let them quit. Who's gonna stay and fight everyday just for survival.
The -FJ's of the world were right. Elect Trump to shake it up. They may not like all of his proposals, but they're gonna like a lot of them. And Trump is flooding the zone with policies, disruption and chaos right now like nobody's business.
Now folks, ask yourself this... do you want a warrior for your/our progressive causes? Or do you want a nice, established pol like Obama or Biden?
Who negotiates with himself? [Think health care here]
The Harvard School of Busines philosophy. Seek out efficiency opportunities, shake the tree, see what falls out. Rinse and repeat...
Buying fully into this philosophy requires leaving little to no room for compassion.
Trump and his fascist charged HSoB approach to governance is his cause. We the People will feel the effects. He doesn't give a shit about how anyone not in his cult thinks or feels about it.
Trump is a Tyrant. All Hail King Donald.
And he comes with Fascist Saluting Elon. No extra charge of course. LMAO!
The trump/musk alliance is going to be short lived. You can't pair two people with massive narcissistic egos and expect it to last long. Neither one is much good at taking anyone's opinions into account and has no problem telling the world they are right.
Trying to cut wasteful spending is a great idea and greatly needed but it should be done with a scalpel not a machete.
As far as the legal aspect of what he does has little ground. Paying off rich kids college was deemed illegal but was done anyway with little consequence.
So Skud... you could not stand Biden and you admit Trump has a "massive narcissistic ego". Many of us here will be grateful for at least a small admission.
But in all sincerity, when did you come to that conclusion with Trump? Just recently? Before you voted for Trump in 2016, 2020 and maybe 2024?
I ask because most of us here have been saying it since 2015, yet here we are.
skud - For people with massive student loans and a family to support (like my 47 year old son who figures he'll be done about the time he retires) the money given to the predatory lenders does not go into the economy. It feeds the greed of the predatory lenders which does nothing for the economy. Stop predatory lending, reduce interest rates to 1 1/2 - 3 percent w/o gimmicks and the responsibility for repayment of school loans becomes more manageable without strangling families. A win win proposition. But of course the great predatory capitalists of America would never accept this.
As to the balance of your comment skud, absolutely. No argument from me.
However skud, we very likely would differ on where the scalpel need be applied.
Dave, It does appear that you have not read what I have written for months because I have said trump was an ego driven narcissist but I guess you missed it. IMO biden was not qualified to run a country because being a senile nice guy (robert hur) does not qualify you to be president. I have said trump was not a good choice either he was just better than the alternative that the DNC gave us.
The DNC is so hung up on getting the first female president that they ran two unlikable women who both lost to trump, the most hated president in decades.
Now we have the hearings going on where the two former democrats are deemed not fit for their positions. I guess it is just a coincidence that when they were democrats they were fine but change stripes and you are failed. We need to stay with status quo so nothing changes. What a way to run a country.
