Every Christian knows this passage. If a leader is angry after hearing a pastor plead for him or her to follow those words, perhaps it's best to look inward towards the soul and ask why, rather than attack the messenger.
Trump demands an apology from a bishop for a prayer about compassion and unity, because clearly mercy for migrants and the LGBTQ+ community is just too offensive. Imagine being this outraged over Deuteronomy and a call for kindness. Seems like someone didn’t find ‘America the Beautiful’ soothing.
I allowed this comment to demonstrate the depravity of so many who worship Trump.
Trump is a malignant narcissist, and ANY perceived criticism of any of his actions is a grievous injury to his ego and must be punished. Trump is NOT a mentally healthy human being. Did you see the faces of the Trump crime family as the Bishop spoke? They looked so terrified, looking around, as if the script stopped and they were revealed for who they really are, and powerless to stop a single woman from speaking.
